Lots of kids share bedrooms, but the sizes are shrinking as more families live in small spaces. We tested the limits and used smart, safe ideas to make a playful, private shared kids’ room. Check out the Square Metre Challenge bedroom, living room and kitchen, too.

To make the room for a 4-year-old and an 8-year-old, we used age-based planning, personal spaces, and adaptable furniture. It’s fun and functional with space to bond and to be alone.
