Awkward no more: The space between kitchen cabinets

Extractor hoods and exhaust fans are one of those kitchen things that tend to take up a lot of room. One way to take some space back is to extend your kitchen hanging space to either side. Magnetic racks and wall shelves can be positioned almost anywhere and hang almost anything.

Even if you’ve got a tiny space between your cabinets and walls you can use it for more than gathering dust ­— like storing dust gatherers maybe! This KOMPLEMENT hanger works just as well outside the wardrobe to make a hanging space for cleaning supplies when you have next to no space.

Sloped roofs above cabinets can be difficult to purpose. A clever solution is to turn dead space into deco space, by lining up bottles or say cookbooks in a row by height.

Adding modern appliances to old kitchens can often lead to some unusual gaps. A practical way to fill the space is with a trolley filled with kitchen supplies (this version here is only 45cm wide). If you don’t want your trolley on show a crafty solution is to use a curtain cover up.

Even tall vertical gaps can be put to good use. We gave a couple of MOSSLANDA picture ledges a new job as holders for some folding chairs. At only 12cm wide they’re an easy fix for a tight space.
