IKEA recalls CALYPSO ceiling lamps dated 1625-1744 for risk of glass casing falling off
IKEA takes product safety very seriously. All our products are tested and comply with applicable standards and legislation. In spite of this we have received reports that CALYPSO glass shades have fallen. To protect people, and to avoid other accidents, we are recalling this product so that the customer can receive a full refund or obtain a replacement product.
IKEA urges all customers that purchased CALYPSO ceiling lamps after 1st of August 11 to double check the date stamp on the product. IKEA is recalling CALYPSO ceiling lamps manufactured between and including these date stamps: (1625) to (1744).
IKEA has received customer reports of glass shades falling and to minimize the risk to our customers IKEA is recalling CALYPSO ceiling lamps manufactured within the date stamps mentioned above.
IKEA requires all customers with CALYPSO ceiling lamps produced by the mentioned dates to return them for replacement with new CALYPSO lamps or receive a full refund, no receipt required.

IKEA urges its customers to check the date label as pictured below: The date format by week is as follows: 1625 to 1744. This means from the twenty-fifth week of 2016 to the forty-fourth week of 2017, where the first two numbers on the right indicate the week and the two numbers on the left indicate the year of manufacture.
