IKEA Recalls IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL Garlic Press, Black

IKEA urges all customers who own the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press, black, to stop using it and contact IKEA.

The affected product has article numbers: 201.521.58, 305.781.89, and 601.636.02.

Why is this product unsafe to use?
Due to a manufacturing defect identified during an internal investigation, there is a risk that small metal fragments may come loose during use and be ingested with food. As a result, IKEA is recalling the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press, black, with date stamps from 2411 (YYWW) to 2522 (YYWW). Affected products can be identified by the IKEA logo marked on the upper handle of the product.

What should you do if you have this product?
Customers who own an affected garlic press should immediately stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund. Additionally, IKEA encourages customers to spread the word about this recall, especially if they know that the recalled product was offered, lent, or sold to someone else.

What solutions can you expect as a customer?
Affected products can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.

IKEA is recalling some outdoor LED light chains and lamps with an incompatible plug from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ, and UTSUND

IKEA is asking all customers who own the affected outdoor LED light chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ, and UTSUND to immediately stop using them and contact IKEA for a replacement product or a full refund. Due to a manufacturing defect, the plug of these products does not meet relevant safety standards, resulting in a risk of electric shock. Affected products can be identified by the name on the LED driver, the date marking on the LED driver, and the name on the plug (all details below).

  • LEDLJUS outdoor light chain black, 24 lights
  • LEDLJUS outdoor light chain black, 64 lights
  • SOMMARLÅNKE LED floor lamp 100 cm beige outdoor

Why are these products not safe to use? Safety is a top priority for IKEA, which is why we are recalling certain outdoor LED light chains and lamps from the product families LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ, and UTSUND, as the plug of these products does not meet a relevant safety standard, resulting in a risk of electric shock.

During development, IKEA products are risk-assessed and thoroughly tested to ensure that our products comply with applicable requirements and regulations in all markets where IKEA operates.

Despite this, we have become aware that a specific plug used for the above-mentioned products does not comply with a relevant safety standard to limit water ingress due to a manufacturing defect. Therefore, all IKEA outdoor LED light chains and lamps with the affected plug are being recalled. Affected products can be identified by the name on the LED driver (ICPSH24-2-IL-1), the date marking (YYWW – see all affected date markings in the list above) on the LED driver, and the name on the plug (SYK-02F). Products with other LED drivers, other date stamps, and a different plug are not included in this recall.


IKEA is recalling the ÅSKSTORM 40 W USB charger due to fire and electric shock hazard

IKEA urges all customers who own the ÅSKSTORM 40 W USB charger, dark grey, article number 50461193, to stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund. 

Safety is a top priority for IKEA, and therefore ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger dark grey is recalled. The power cord can be damaged or broken after being wrapped around a charger or bent back and forth during prolonged use. The damaged cord can cause burns and electric shock. As a result, ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger dark grey is being recalled.

The ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger dark grey can be identified by the model number ICPSW5-40-1 that is found on label on the backside of the USB-charger.

ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger dark grey can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.

IKEA announces the recall of certain LETTAN mirrors for repair due to wall fittings breaking. IKEA asks all customers who own a LETTAN mirror to be affected by this, to stop using it and order new wall fittings at no extra cost. 

LETTAN mirrors affected by the recall now include:

- All LETTAN mirrors with date stamp up to and including 2105 (YYMM)

- LETTAN mirrors with supplier number 21944 and date stamp up to and including 2325 (YYMM)

Date stamp and supplier number can be found on a label on the backside of the LETTAN mirror.


IKEA is recalling BLÅVINGAD fishing game multicolour due to potential choking hazard

IKEA urges all customers who own BLÅVINGAD fishing game multicolour to stop using it and to contact IKEA for a full refund.

Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are taking precautionary measures and recalling BLÅVINGAD fishing game multicolour, due to a potential choking hazard. IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards on the markets where they are sold. Despite of this it has come to our attention that small rivets on the toy can come loose, which results in a potential choking hazard, especially for smaller children. Therefore, BLÅVINGAD fishing game multicolour is being recalled. BLÅVINGAD fishing game multicolour can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall may cause.

IKEA asks all customers who own LETTAN mirrors with a date stamp before and including 2105 (YYYY) to get in touch to get new wall mounts. Wall mounts can also be ordered free of charge via the link below.  

IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards on the markets where they are sold.

Despite this it has come to our attention that some of the fittings that attach LETTAN mirrors to the wall, have been breaking. This has in turn led to some mirrors unexpectedly falling. Therefore, we urge all customers who own an affected LETTAN mirror to stop using it, and to order replacement wall fittings free of charge.

IKEA is recalling the ODGER work chair in anthracite gray colour with date marking before and including 2221 (yyyy) due to the risk of falling and injury to the user.

IKEA asks all customers who own an ODGER work chair in anthracite colour with a date marking before and including 2221 (yyyy) to stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund.

Customer safety is always the starting point for IKEA. Therefore, IKEA is recalling the ODGER work chair in anthracite gray colour with date marking before and including 2221 (22 stands for the year, and 21 stands for the week the product was manufactured), because there is a risk that the star base of the chair may break and pose a risk of falling and damage to the user. IKEA asks all customers who own an ODGER work chair in anthracite colour with date marking before and including 2221 to stop using it and take it to IKEA for a full refund.

The name and date stamp of the product can be found underneath the seat, molded in the material of the chair. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this recall.


IKEA is recalling the METALLISK espresso kettle for countertop, 0.4 liters, with a stainless-steel safety valve, dated between 2040 and 2204, because the product may burst during use.

IKEA urges all customers who own the METALLISK Espresso Pot for Plate Top 0.4 L with Safety Valve in Stainless Steel, with a date stamp between 2040 and 2204 (yyyy), to stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund. 

Safety has the highest priority for IKEA and therefore we are recalling METALLISK espresso pot for hob 0.4 l with safety valve in stainless steel, with date stamp between 2040 and 2204 (yyyy), due to an increased risk of the product bursting during use. The risk has increased after a change of material and construction of the safety valve therefore only the products with the stainless steel safety valve (silver/grey in color), are included in the recall.

No other units are affected by this recall. METALLISK espresso maker with the stainless-steel safety valve, date stamps between 2040 and 2204 (yyww), can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. We apologise for any problems this causes our customers. 


IKEA is recalling HEROISK and TALRIKA plates, bowls and mugs due to the risk of them cracking 

IKEA encourages all customers who have HEROISK or TALRIKA plates, bowls and mugs to stop using them and contact IKEA for a full refund. Safety is our most important priority at IKEA, and therefore we are taking precautions and recalling HEROISK and TALRIKA plates, bowls and mugs, because they can crack and potentially cause second-degree burns if someone gets hot contents on them.

All our products are tested and comply with current standards and legislation. Despite this, we have received reports that these products have broken. HEROISK and TALRIKA can be returned to all IKEA stores for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall causes our customers. 


IKEA recalls KNÄCKEBRÖD FLERKORN 250 g with best before date 12.02.2021

The product contains a small amount of sesame seeds, which may have a low content of ethylene oxide. This can be harmful to health if consumed in large quantities over a long period of time, and we therefore ask customers to return the product to us or contact our customer center for a refund. IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.  

There have been no reports of customers experiencing any negative health effects after eating the crisp bread.
