How can I connect an IKEA Matter smart product to the DIRIGERA app?

If you've just bought an IKEA Matter-compatible product, this guide will help you how to make the first connection.

Before you start
  • Make sure your IKEA Home smart app and DIRIGERA hub are updated to the latest version.
  • Power the product By installing the power cable, installing the bulb, or inserting batteries.
  • Smart products from IKEA are ready to plug in for 15 minutes as soon as they are turned on.

The app will let you know when you're ready to connect

When the IKEA Home smart app finds a product, you will get a message that asks if you want to add the product to your home.
This means that the product is ready to connect.
After 15 minutes, the pairing window will close and you will need to start over:
Press the system button once To start a new 15-minute pairing window. For smart lights, turn the light on and off again.

Stay close while connecting

  • Smart products are connected using Bluetooth (BLE). Make sure you keep your phone close to the hub and the product while they connect.
  • Matter products use a different network than the older IKEA smart products, like TRÅDFRI. It is important to Stay close to the hub To establish a strong connection, especially when connecting your first product.

If nothing happens

  • Sometimes a product stops being visible to your phone. This can happen if the connection has tried and failed multiple times.
  • Try one Factory Reset to clean up old connections and start over. Factory reset by holding the system button for a long time for 10 seconds. For smart lights, follow the instructions in the IKEA Home smart app to turn the light on and off 6 times at a specific rhythm.
A factory reset will erase old data or previous connections, so The product can reconnect like new.
A 15 minute pairing window will automatically open when the factory reset is complete.
  • Reset the Thread network - Sometimes the Thread network can get mismatched if a product tries and fails to connect multiple times. In this case, we recommend resetting the Thread network:
Go to hub settings in the IKEA Home smart app to reset the Thread network
The app will help you reset so the network can build a stable base
Matter products connected to your Thread network will need to reset once the network is ready.
