Healthy and sustainable living
Our objective is to inspire and enable people to move towards healthy and sustainable lifestyles, by making healthy and sustainable living a desirable choice that is affordable, attractive and accessible for as many people as possible. We aim to do this through our products, services, food, marketing and communications. Check out a few highlights from the past year!

Launching the BERGVATTNET collection
A product range developed to reduce water-flow rates, monitor consumption and collect water at home that would otherwise go to waste, BERGVATTNET offers simple and affordable products which can inspire and enable more efficient water use in the home. For example, the auto diverter automatically diverts cold water that would otherwise go to waste as you are waiting for the shower to heat up. The cold water runs through a separate hose and can be collected in a bucket. Once the water temperature reaches 32°C, the water automatically diverts to the hand shower. The collected water can be used, for example, to flush toilets or water plants.
Partnering with 50L Home Coalition
As part of our partnership with 50L Home Coalition we continued work on a pilot project in LA. In collaboration with the U.S. Green Building Council California and other coalition sponsors, 32 homes were fitted with water meters at every point of use across the home. We helped upgrade 15 of those homes with some of our best water-efficient products, including the VIMMERN kitchen mixer tap, BROGRUND showerhead, as well as other low-flow solutions and water and energy-efficient appliances.
The aim was to explore how simple changes throughout the home can reduce water use without changing the way people live. While this is a small sample size of homes in a water-stressed area, early results from the pilot show that homes using water-saving products saw a 21% drop in water use compared to those without. On average, indoor water use fell to just 87 litres (23 gallons) per person per day – nearly half the typical usage in Los Angeles.

Expanding our plant-rich food offering
Last year, we launched a new rice mix with vegetables dish in our restaurants, expanding our plant-rich food options. This is now offered alongside other plant-rich dishes such as our plant balls, vegetable hot dog, salads, and in some markets, plant-rich soups. We define "plant-rich" as a meal or dish that is – measured by weight – at least 75% plants, qualified as foods whose ingredients are derived only from plants. The remaining 25% can contain any animal-derived ingredients.
Championing the beautiful bin movement
Through our beautiful bin movement, we continue to develop recycling and waste bins that encourage waste sorting by making it easier. For example, our FARMARKVAST organic waste collector is small enough to sit on the countertop, with a lid that hangs on the side, making it easy to dispose of your food waste after prepping and cooking. Not only does it support with recycling, it is also made of recycled materials, at least 50% of the plastic in the container and lid is recycled. In FY25 we launched the TRÖSKNING bin, developed to help you save space and allow waste sorting to be a part of the décor.
