VÄXELBRUK is a new collection of textile products partially made from recycled work clothes of co-workers collected from IKEA stores and Distributions Centres across Europe.

This curtain is woven from fabric strands in yellow and dark blue, which are clearly visible in the decorative fringes on the long sides.
The fabric has natural colour variations, giving each product a unique expression.
Effective at keeping out both draughts in the winter and heat in the summer.

The project helps us explore ways to give new life to textiles that would otherwise go to waste. That they could be transformed so completely and given a second life as decorative curtains, throws, cushion covers and bags feels like pure magic!

The room darkening fabric lets in a small amount of daylight, when it is brighter outside and darkens the room. It prevents glare on TV’s and digital screens. It gives you a strong sense of privacy as people cannot see in day or night. Silhouettes and light indoors are barely perceived.
