There’s always a focus on quality and safety already from the start in the product development. “We know from experience already when we do our sketches what dimensions chair legs require. We can also simulate different strains the chair is exposed to in different computer programs,” says Magnus and tells that even when we think we sit entirely still on a chair, we actually move and change the load. “In the development work, we need to take into account the fact that people sit differently and have different bodies. The relatively thin back on the SANDSBERG chair is developed to give flexibility and comfortable support to all backs – and cope with everyday life in your home.”

Choose the right bar stool height
Choose the right height of your bar stool so that it is comfy to sit on, offers plenty of leg room and is proportionate with the rest of your space. Kitchen counters and counter-height tables typically range from 87-91 cm from the floor. To find the perfect stool for your counter, look for a seat height of 60-66 cm. Tabletops or counters that measure between 101-106 cm from the floor, are typically classified as "bar height", and require a seat height of 72-76 centimetres.

We used wood and metal, but mixing materials and optimising material use always mean additional challenges to pass tough test requirements and achieve the best possible price. That’s why we’re extra proud to end our 41-year career at IKEA with this series and curious about how it will be received."
