Lay a simple table to enjoy

Homeowner Mona loves to invite friends over for brunch. ‘It’s a chance to share food and time together and for me to get a little creative with my table settings. The small details like candles and flowers, make our time at the table feel special and worth lingering over.’ This year, why not try your own #littlethings at the table?

Arrange a seasonal centrepiece

If you have lots of guests, try placing a single tray at the centre – easy to set up and clear away afterwards – instead of individually personalised settings. ‘If it’s too early in the year for spring blooms I like to use ferns, eucalyptus leaves or thistles,’ says Mona. ‘On gloomy days, I add additional candles to make it extra cosy and welcoming.’

I cherish the ritual of setting the table. It makes me look forward to good company and good conversation
