IKEA family terms and conditions

1. Program Introduction

  • The IKEA Family program is a free membership program offered by IKEA – Bahrain. By registering, the member explicitly and legally accepts all the terms and conditions outlined below. The member must fully comply with these terms throughout their membership, and the company reserves the right to modify or update them at any time.

2. Registration and Membership Terms

  • Each individual may apply for only one membership.
  • Registration must be completed using a valid mobile number and/or a reliable email address, with accurate and up-to-date information provided during registration.
  • Registration is exclusively available through IKEA’s official website or the approved mobile application.
  • Membership is personal, non-transferable, and cannot be shared with any third party. Unauthorized use by anyone other than the registered member is prohibited.

3. Membership Card

  • The card is issued digitally and displayed in the member’s account on the IKEA app or website.
  • Under no circumstances may the card be used by others, traded, or copied for unauthorized purposes.
  • IKEA reserves the right to immediately suspend or cancel the card if any illegal or non-compliant use is suspected.

 

4. Benefits and Offers

  • Membership provides a range of benefits, including but not limited to: exclusive discounts, invitations to special events, and customized marketing content.
  • All benefits are granted solely at IKEA’s discretion and may vary or be modified according to internal policies without prior notice.
  • IKEA is not obligated to provide fixed benefits or offers and may withdraw or modify any benefit at any time without any legal liability to members.

 

5. Offer Restrictions

  • Offers may apply only to specific categories or products and for limited periods.
  • Discounts or promotional offers may not be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated otherwise by IKEA.
  • IKEA reserves the right to refuse discount or offer applications in cases of misuse or suspected fraud.

 

6. Personal Data and Privacy

  • The member is solely responsible for periodically updating their personal data to ensure accurate communication and benefit delivery.
  • By registering, the member consents to receiving marketing and promotional messages via SMS, email, or messaging apps such as WhatsApp.
  • The member may modify communication preferences or unsubscribe through their account or via links included in the messages.

 

7. Data Protection

  • IKEA processes member data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law in force in Saudi Arabia and in accordance with the company’s privacy policy.
  • Data is used for membership management, service development, and purchase behavior analysis to customize offers.
  • Data will not be disclosed to any third party except under legal regulations or with the member’s documented consent.

 

8. Membership Termination or Suspension

  • IKEA reserves the right, without prior notice, to suspend or terminate a member’s membership in the following cases:
    • Submission of misleading or inaccurate information.
    • Misuse of offers or programs.
    • Engagement in fraudulent or non-compliant activities.
  • IKEA retains the right to modify or terminate the program entirely or partially at any time, as deemed appropriate, with member notification when necessary.

9. Legal Liability

  • The member is solely and fully responsible for all activities conducted through their account.
  • IKEA disclaims any legal liability for unauthorized use of the member’s account or data leakage due to negligence in safeguarding login credentials.
  • Members are advised not to share login details with third parties or access the account from untrusted devices.

10. Program and Benefit Usage Limits

  • IKEA Family membership and its benefits may not be used for commercial purposes, product resale, or profiteering from offers.
  • Membership is for personal and individual use only. IKEA reserves the right to take appropriate legal action in cases of commercial exploitation or misuse.

 

11. Activity Auditing and Verification

  • IKEA reserves the full right to review and audit any membership account to verify the accuracy of provided information and proper benefit usage at any time without prior notice.
  • This includes reviewing purchasing patterns, offer usage frequency, or any indicators of fraud or misuse.

 

12. Suspension of Privileges in Case of Suspicion

  • If there is reasonable suspicion of irregular activity or breach of terms, IKEA may temporarily suspend access to benefits or discounts pending internal investigation.
  • Membership may be permanently terminated if a violation is confirmed.

 

13. Limitations of Legal Liability

  • IKEA is not liable for any temporary or permanent interruption in services or benefits due to maintenance, force majeure, or technical reasons beyond its control.
  • IKEA is also not liable for any direct or indirect losses resulting from non-compliant or unauthorized program use.
  • Membership cancellation or program termination does not entitle the member to any compensation from IKEA, whether direct or indirect.
  • All offers and benefits are promotional and non-contractual, and should not be interpreted as permanent legal obligations.
  • IKEA is not liable for any moral or material damages resulting from a member’s delay or failure to utilize any program benefits, including but not limited to: discounts, invitations, or marketing content.

 

14. Modifications to Terms

  • IKEA reserves the absolute right to modify or update the terms and conditions at any time. The version published on the official website is the legally binding version.
  • Continued membership use after any modification constitutes explicit acceptance of the changes.

 

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • These terms and conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • The competent judicial authorities in the Kingdom shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from the application, interpretation, or enforcement of these terms.
