What is bamboo?
Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. “I used to work as a boat builder and love natural materials. When I designed the GRÖNSAKER series, I wanted to explore giving the inner and outer sides of the salad bowl different shapes, for both aesthetic and functional reasons. The idea is that most of the salad is visible, so you can see what is being served. Most of all, the bowl and servers are a tribute to bamboo – I hope people are reminded of the beauty of this material every time they use the products."
