How many moving boxes do I need?
Clothes, toys, books, kitchen utensils and the list goes on: a move often involves much more than expected. Therefore, calculate enough boxes so that everything runs smoothly on moving day. The rule of thumb is that a single household fits into around 30 boxes. For each additional adult, you should expect 20 to 25 boxes. The children's room accounts for another 10 to 15 boxes per child.
How many moving boxes fit in a van?
You can fit around 70 standard-sized boxes in a van with a load volume of ten cubic metres. Depending on the length of the vehicle, you may be able to fit more boxes. How do I pack the moving box?
Packing moving boxes is a bit of a science in itself. We have summarised a few valuable tips for you here:
- Heavy things belong at the bottom of the box, lighter things go on top.
- It's better to divide files, books and other heavy items between several boxes.
- When storing your belongings, make sure that the handle holes remain free.
- Wrap fragile items securely in bubble wrap or newspaper.
