If you could travel back to one decade, which would you choose? The roaring ‘20s? The swinging ‘60s? If the freedom, funk and fabulous bold patterns of the ‘70s have you yearning for a time machine, you’re in luck. IKEA has teamed up with YUST hotels in Belgium to create four luxurious rooms that celebrate the ‘70s in nostalgic style.

A trip down memory lane

In 2023, IKEA turned 80! To mark the occasion, we released Nytillverkad – a collection of some of our most iconic pieces, reissued with delightful updates for design aficionados of today. The collection simultaneously celebrates where we have been and where we are now. The collaboration the YUST is an expression of just that - a bold pop-up experience that takes us back to the future.

Groovy, baby!

IKEA Belgium interior designer Hilde Cludts had great fun designing the rooms, creating two distinct looks that pay homage to IKEA’s rich history. “We wanted these spaces to be an ode to the ‘70s and for this, we took inspiration from the IKEA catalogues from that decade. These are full of nostalgic interiors that we brought back to life in original ways by using funky wallpaper, the Nytillverkad products and vintage accessories."
