For this launch, we welcome back selected statement pieces for the home, updated for a new generation of IKEA fans and design lovers. GUIDE
Shelving unit
When designer Niels Gammelgaard was tasked with creating a bookshelf to complement his popular MOMENT steel mesh sofa, he came up with the playful, colourful GUIDE shelving unit.

Open shelving unit
Forty years later, it’s back and Niels Gammelgaard’s colour-popping galvanised steel framed shelf unit feels just as contemporary as ever! The reversible shelves are anthracite grey on one side and white on the other, for two different looks.

Benches
Erik Wørts’ NOVETT oak benches were designed for displaying plants, TVs or just about anything; even sitting on. Sold separately or together in two sizes, back then they cost less than SEK 100 (around EUR 10) for the pair.

Now reimagined as a coffee table and side table, they remain as elegant and practical as they were the first time around.

Easy chair
Also designed by Niels Gammelgaard, the 1978 IKEA catalogue described the fold-up easy chair as: “Something of a luxury foldable stool,” that was perfect for even the "best room" in the home. With its thick fabric back and seat, combined with tubular steel legs, it struck the perfect balance between comfort and aesthetics.

Bed linen
When textile designer Sven Fristedt’s heavenly screen printed pattern first launched as a duvet cover in 1973, it was soon considered too expensive to produce in large quantities. Not one to be deterred, Sven modified the pattern and it made its fabulous return in 1981 on bed linen, fabrics and even wallpaper!

Thanks to the return of Sven’s dreamy print, renamed ÄNGSVITVINGE, you can drift off in the clouds and wake up to blue skies every day.

Vases
Best known for her iconic FAMNIG heart cushion, designer Anna Efverlund’s lively, fun spirit comes through in all her products, not least these colourful mouth-blown vases from the mid-nineties.

Making a bold return, this time coloured with clear lacquer in yellow and orange, Anna Efverlund’s cocoon-like vases make bouquets and stems stand out.

Pendant lampshade
When our original spherical lampshade, RISLAMPA launched in 1969, little did we know this simple pendant lamp made from rice paper would become the inspiration for many successors over the decades.

Our beloved rice paper shade returns in the Nytillverkad collection, but now even bigger! Measuring 70 cm in diameter (the original was 61 cm), it makes an even bigger style statement in any room.

Do you recognise this groovy swivel chair? Well, you may have seen Gillis Lundgren’s 1967 MILA chair in green and black when it returned to the IKEA range in 2024 as an early re-edition in the Nytillverkad collection, known as DYVLINGE.

Swivel armchair
Could orange be the new black (or green)? Yes! Thanks to much appreciation from IKEA fans, DYVLINGE remains in the Nytillverkad range, now updated in a new eye-catching colour.

Duvet cover and pillowcases
Anna Efverlund’s popcorn pattern first popped up in the children’s section in the IKEA catalogue as bold yellow and green bed linen.

Duvet cover and pillowcases
Although just as joyful, Anna’s fun pattern returns in a more mature black-and-white version, accompanied by cushion covers and as part of our selection of 3-metre pre-cut fabrics.

Armchair
“It’s transparent. You don’t have any chair in the room, you just have a structure you can sit in,” said designer Niels Gammelgaard of his steel mesh armchair. You may have seen it more recently in orange.

Armchair
A favourite of the Nytillverkad collection, Niels Gammelgaard’s experimental mesh classic now comes in white. It may be more subtle in terms of colour than its orange contemporary, but certainly not in appeal.

Chair
Gillis Lundgren’s low chair is also no stranger to the collection. First launched in 1969, PUCK joined the Nytillverkad collection in 2024, in bright, happy yellow – one of its original colours.

Armchair
The broad, low form of the chair formerly known as PUCK, in lipstick red, fittingly resembles a pair of lips. The perfect loveseat perhaps?
