IKEA everyday rituals

Brighten up your everyday

Wellbeing starts in the home, and even small actions can make all the difference. Look at the inspiring everyday rituals of Gabriela and Morali, Leah, Maria and Daisuke and how they bring fun to daily life.

Smallscape gardeners

Gabriela and Morali put the lid on their glass jar garden. They are surrounded by plants.
A hand reaches into the glass jar and plants a shoot in the soil. The lid is next to the jar.

Gabriela and Morali love pottering around with jars, creating their own micro gardens. The best thing about a terrarium is they're much less demanding than a garden, or even potted plants. "We call this a soft launch for our future garden," says Gabriela.

The 365+ glass jar is perfect for making your own terrarium. The lid traps the moisture, creating a moist, humid microclimate. Add grit and soil, then plant your shoots. Finish it off with a quick spritz and watch it grow!

"We call this a soft launch for our future garden."

Lunchtime special

Leah stands at the worktop. She looks down at her ingredients and ramen soup jars.
An array of ingredients, including carrots, leeks, cabbage and herbs on a chopping board.

Leah loves nothing more than a warm jar of healthy ramen soup. To save time (and money) she prepares them in batches. These make-ahead meals are quick and easy to put together, and they're filled with all her favourite ingredients.

Grab a few reusable glass jars, like the KORKEN jar with lid, fill them with prepped vegetables, seasoning and a handful of noodles then store them in the fridge. When it's time for lunch, just grab a jar, add hot water and wait for a few minutes. Delicious!

"That metal click when tomorrow’s lunch is sealed… sooo satisfying."

A home pet parlour

Maria rubs her dog, Camila with a yellow towel. The dog looks happy.
A dog sits in the bathtub. A mirror shows her owner bathing her.

Maria loves treating her fur baby, Camila, to a relaxing spa treatment. While Camila loves being pampered, Maria also finds calm and relaxation in their bathing and brushing ritual. "When I take care of my spirit animal, she takes care of me," says Maria.

All you need is a couple of towels (one for cuddling and one for the floor), shampoo, a scrub mitten and a watering can, such as the ÄRTBUSKE watering can to create your own pet spa. Feel the boost of "feel good" hormones as you both enjoy a home pampering session.

"When I take care of my spirit animal, she takes care of me."

Time for a new look

Daisuke stands in his room. He is smiling as he hands clothes on hangers to a friend.
Daisuke packs clothes into a transparent storage bag. His room is full of plants and personal belongings.

Who wouldn't love a new outfit? Even better when it's free! Whenever Daisuke has a wardrobe clear out, he loves inviting friends over for a clothes swap. Hosting his own pre-loved pop-up at home is a fun way to kill his darlings, try a new look and not least, spend time with friends.

Why not host your own clothes swap? Go through your closets, sorting out clothes and accessories that you no longer wear and invite friends over to bring along their cast-offs. Stock up on TRYSSE hangers for displaying items and get swapping!

"I’m breaking up with my wardrobe and letting someone else fall in love with it."
