Any excuse to celebrate

It’s your half birthday! You finished the crossword in record time! You just bit into the world’s most perfect peach! OK, that’s possibly a stretch, but really there is so much to celebrate in life, so why not make the most of every toast-worthy moment when it comes along? Take a look at some easy ways to do just that, with food and friends always at the centre.

Raise a glass to new beginnings

So, you’ve just put down the final box in your new spot. That deserves a toast, surely? Yes, a formal housewarming will happen once you’ve unpacked, but today is special too. Order some food, call over some friends and connect to that Bluetooth speaker – it's time to celebrate!

Every room is a dance floor in waiting

This little Bluetooth speaker brings pocket-sized joy wherever it goes! You don't need a serious sound system to get the party started. Connect one of these (or two for stereo sound) and boogying is sure to follow.

Putting the fun in functional

When everything is packed away and your appliances are yet to be plugged in, you may need to improvise. We love that a cooler bag works just as well as a makeshift bar fridge. Just fill it with some ice and a few celebratory bottles and you’re ready to go.

Take the party with you

If the sun is out and about, why not join it? Bask in some rays with good friends, good food and good vibes. A set of lightweight, portable outdoor furniture take the hassle out of heading off on an adventure, giving you more time to soak up all that summery goodness.

Spread the joy!

Of course, if you don’t have some chairs or a table to take along, it doesn’t mean you can’t get out there! A picnic blanket spread out on some grass along with a few snacks and games is an equally lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon.

The travelling kitchen

Grilling is a relaxed and delicious way to share a meal while enjoying the outdoors. It’s no surprise it’s a weekend tradition for people in many corners of the world. This small charcoal barbecue is your smoky ticket to a good time. It is lightweight and has carrying handles, making it the perfect companion to bring along wherever the festivities are taking place.

Together even when apart

We are all scattered around the world, which means there are so many exciting places to visit. But when important moments happen and we can’t make an occasion, it can really tug at the heartstrings to be at a distance. Luckily, sharing those moments can be possible with just two things: a visit to an IKEA store and a reliable internet connection.

A little effort for many ooohs and aaahs

Assembling a few delicious ingredients can be a quick and simple way to celebrate a special moment. Here’s an idea: some savoury waffles, smoked salmon, a sprig of dill, a drizzle of fresh, sharp lemon juice and a generous crack of black pepper. You can even serve it on the board you used to prepare it!

Sweet and cheerful

If there’s an opportunity to have an unusual take on a traditional celebratory moment, take it! A wedding cake made from artfully stacked biscuits is an affordable, fun and downright delightful way to celebrate along from far away.
