Gustaf Westman
Every day is worth celebrating – no fancy occasion required! This is the central theme of our collaboration with Swedish designer Gustaf Westman. The new 12-piece range of bold, colourful tableware and eye-catching home objects adds a delicious slice of fun to this year’s winter collection. So, pull up a chair, grab a meatball and let’s take a peek!

When looking to create a fresh take on what it means to entertain in the home, we looked no further than Stockholm-based designer Gustaf Westman. Gustaf’s work is undeniably cheerful – known for its tactile curves and surprising colour combinations. "Our own design DNA has always embraced colour and playfulness," says Maria O'Brian, Creative Leader at IKEA of Sweden. "In Gustaf, we found the perfect partner to amplify that part of our identity and push it in a new, exciting direction with us."
The VINTERFINT 2025 serving plate is ready to roll with any festive mood, whether you're serving meatballs, almonds, or chocolate pralines. Each piece in the collection works on its own as the star of the show or as part of a colourful crowd.
"The starting point for this collection was a simple question: what does celebration mean today? We wanted to explore a more modern, playful, and inclusive approach – one that is less formal and moves beyond the big, traditional holidays."

Most pieces in the collection are crafted from a single material, such as porcelain or stoneware, and all pieces are one of four distinct colours. The colour palette mixes traditional red and green with more surprising hues of bubblegum pink and dusty, baby blue. These expressive colours are then applied to Gustaf's signature sculptural forms.
The bouncy vase is made from a single metal spiral that twists into an hourglass silhouette, holding a separate glass vessel. The result is quite magical! "A rounded form has no clear ending, which I think gives an object more life," says Gustaf. "This vase is a good example: it has a continuous shape, and it also brings an element of humour with its bounciness."
The VINTERFINT 2025 collection includes a range of whimsical pillar candle holders, candlesticks, and tealight holders designed not just to hold light, but to create a cheerful atmosphere. The pieces are made to be mixed and matched and can be paired easily with other items in the collection, creating a warm and welcoming backdrop for gathering around the table. But Gustaf didn't stop there! He also contributed two lights to the STRÅLA collection, which add an extra warm glow to a celebratory mood.
"I got the chance to put conventional holiday aesthetics on its head, adding playfulness and boldness. This is my interpretation of Christmas.”
