Raise a Concern: IKEA supply chain
The workplace should always be a safe place
The IKEA business is based on honesty, respect, fairness, and integrity. Our IWAY code of conduct and our suppliers guide responsible decisions across the value chain. Still, breaches can happen. That’s why IKEA suppliers are expected to have safe, retaliation-free processes for reporting concerns. If those processes don’t work, IKEA provides a Raise a Concern platform, as a last resort.
IWAY, our supplier code of conduct
Our suppliers and value chain are fundamental to achieving our ambition and making a positive difference. This is why at IKEA we have IWAY, our supplier code of conduct. It is an enabler for two IKEA strategies, the Sustainability and Supply strategies, and it sets out a common commitment to social and environmental responsibility in our value chain. IWAY describes requirements that we expect our suppliers to fulfil, as well as accompanying ways of working for IKEA organisations.
Frequently asked questions
Why should I raise a concern?
Raising concerns is key to sustaining a safe and secure work environment. We hope you see it as your responsibility to raise your concern and feel safe to do so. Remaining silent could make the situation worse. When you raise your concern, we can improve together.
How do I raise a concern?
We believe that supply chain-related concerns can best be handled by the supplier organisation where they arise. However, if the reporting process within the supplier organisation isn’t sufficient, we offer the Raise a Concern platform as a last resort.
Who can raise a concern?
Anyone who sees or experiences breaches of the IKEA supplier code of conduct (IWAY), laws or regulations. You can raise a concern anonymously, unless applicable laws in your country don’t allow anonymous reporting. If you do include your name, we’ll make every effort to ensure that your identity remains protected.
What types of concerns can I raise?
You can raise concerns about potential wrongdoings by supplier organisations, for example, breaches of IWAY, the IKEA supplier code of conduct and/or breaches of applicable laws and regulations. Broadly speaking, you’re encouraged to report situations where an IKEA supplier abuses the environment, human rights or labour rights.
What happens after I have raised a concern?
Inter IKEA Group takes all reported concerns seriously and evaluates them in a careful, objective and fair manner. You will be updated throughout the process.
How do you secure that my concern is confidential?
Every effort will be made not to reveal your identity. All reported concerns are treated and labelled as strictly confidential, including the identities of the reporter(s) and anyone mentioned in the report. Information will only be shared with a small group of people on a strictly need-to-know basis. Only if required by law, information will be provided to third parties, like governmental bodies.
My concern is related to Inter IKEA Group co-workers or one of the IKEA Retailers - what do I do?
We offer different options for concerns related to Inter IKEA Group co-worker, including the Raise a Concern platform.
