Sustainability Reporting FY25
Evolving our approach to sustainability reporting
Sustainability is part of who we are at IKEA – from lowering our climate footprint to offering products that enable people live a better everyday life at home. And as expectations and regulations evolve, we’re adapting the way we share our progress too.
Starting in January 2026, Inter IKEA Group is moving towards reporting that is more closely aligned with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). With the CSRD requiring in-scope companies to report on a legal-entity basis, using the same level of consolidation as for financial reporting, from now on Inter IKEA Group will report on its own behalf and value chain. Our first step in reporting towards the CSRD requirements is our Inter IKEA Group FY25 Sustainability Statement. This will be followed by the Inter IKEA Group FY26 Annual Report in November 2026, which will include financial and sustainability information.
At the same time, we are continuing to strengthen the way we collect, calculate, and report data. This enables us to gradually align with the CSRD requirements while supporting meaningful change throughout our value chain. A key focus is on improving our climate data, following a deliberate, step-by-step approach. As we are continuing to enhance our processes and systems, climate data for FY25 will not be included in reporting until the publication of the Inter IKEA Group FY26 Annual Report in November 2026.
The previous IKEA Sustainability and Climate reports, which summarised progress towards the commitments outlined in the IKEA Sustainability Strategy at the IKEA brand level, will be discontinued, however we will continue to share examples of actions we are taking as a brand here, on the global IKEA website.
While the format is changing, our ambitions are not. We remain strongly committed to the IKEA Sustainability Strategy and our focus areas: Healthy and sustainable living, Climate, nature and circularity, and Fair and equal.
