Contributing to social change and inclusion in society: IKEA Social Entrepreneurship’s Annual Review
IKEA Social Entrepreneurship continues, in collaboration with global and regional partners, to contribute to a better everyday life for marginalised and vulnerable groups and a more inclusive society.
In FY25 IKEA Social Entrepreneurship broadened its reach through programmes and direct support by providing 120 social entrepreneurs* across 21 countries with capacity building, financial support, and mentorship from dedicated IKEA co-workers. Additionally, in collaboration with 9 social business partners, close to 20 handmade products in the global MÄVINN collection are available in IKEA stores worldwide, creating jobs for nearly 12,000 people.
In an era of complex challenges, it’s more important than ever for businesses like IKEA to reinforce and demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and inclusion. Social entrepreneurship is a growing global movement with around 10 million enterprises focused on social and environmental challenges. Supporting and partnering with social enterprises is one way for us to actively contribute to social impact.
Today marks the launch of the IKEA Social Entrepreneurship Annual Review for FY25, highlighting a year’s commitment to improving the everyday life for people from vulnerable and marginalised groups.
IKEA Social Entrepreneurship continues to work with partners to expand our financial and non-financial support to social entrepreneurs, enabling them to provide jobs, incomes, products, and services to people from vulnerable and marginalised groups. ISE focuses on three main areas: inclusive food and agriculture, inclusive employment, and inclusive circularity. This effort supports IKEA sustainability strategy and benefits its business.
“It's vital for businesses like IKEA to remain committed to supporting social entrepreneurs in driving positive societal change. We stand by and support social entrepreneurs who aim to improve livelihoods for people from vulnerable groups, such as smallholder farmers, artisans, informal workers, migrants and refugees. I'm proud of our achievements from last year, which reflect our dedication to contributing to impactful changes in society, and I'm excited to share it all in our Annual Review for FY25,” says Åsa Skogström Feldt, Managing Director, IKEA Social Entrepreneurship.
