For more than 35 years, IKEA Industry Slovakia has been a manufacturer of boards and furniture for IKEA. From three sites across the country, we supply customers around the world, while contributing to the IKEA vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people. Slovakia is also home to one of our most iconic products, the classic BILLY bookcase.

From basic boards to high gloss furniture

We produce a wide range of sustainable wood-based products, from boards and panels to beds and high-gloss furniture, all designed to bring quality and affordability to homes around the world. Our high gloss furniture unit combines advanced surface technology with precise craftsmanship to create modern, stylish, and functional furniture that meets the needs of everyday life.

  • Building for biodiversity

    We take concrete steps to protect and restore the natural environment. Current initiatives include installing solar panels, wastewater treatment, and rainwater collection systems. We also create habitats for wildlife, such as nesting boxes, ponds, pollinator-friendly planting, and wetland protection projects.

Where to find us

Here’s where IKEA Industry operates in Slovakia:

Trnava

Trnava was the first IKEA Industry site in Slovakia, starting production in 1991. Today, it remains an important part of our global production, producing a variety of furniture using wood veneers and combining craftmanship with modern technology. The nearby facility in Majcichov forms part of our Trnava site and specialises in the production of spliced veneer.

Malacky

Located in western Slovakia, Malacky is home to three factory units that produce high-quality wood-based boards, panels, and high gloss furniture. The high gloss unit combines advanced surface technology with precise craftsmanship to create modern, stylish, and functional furniture. The BILLY bookcase is also produced here, making Malacky one of our most significant sites.

Jasná

Set in the mountains of Slovakia, Jasna produces a variety of IKEA products, including HEMNES and GULLABERG beds and a range of tables. The site spans over 38,800 m² and employs around 450 co-workers. Its location and skilled workforce play an important role in supporting our global production.
