IKEA Industry

Poland

Ingvar Kamprad often said, “IKEA was born in Poland.” Our story began in 1961, when the first order for ÖGLA chairs was placed at a factory in Radomsko – a moment that marked the start of a strong and lasting partnership. Today, Poland is one of the most important production countries in Europe. In fact, one in every five IKEA products worldwide are proudly made in Polish factories, helping us bring affordable, well-designed home furnishing to the many people.

The heart of IKEA woodcraft

IKEA Industry opened its first production facilities in Poland in 1992. Since then, Poland has grown into one of our most important manufacturing hubs and is now the second-largest producer of furniture and home goods for IKEA. With 14 factories across 8 locations, nearly 20% of our global production originates from Poland, including up to half of all IKEA wooden furniture. Many well-known series like HEMNES, MALM, BESTÅ, MICKE, LACK, EKET, and IVAR have their roots in Polish craftsmanship.

Where purpose meets craft

  • Big impact, simple approach

At IKEA Industry Poland, we take on large-scale projects that make a real difference across the IKEA business. But even at this scale, we like to keep things simple. Our workspaces are open and down-to-earth, spaces for people who want to do great things together, away from the busy city life. It’s all part of our mission: to create high-quality furniture at the best possible price.

  • How we make it matters

We take care of the entire furniture-making journey – from sawmills to finished pieces. Everything from wooden glue boards to full-sale production happens in our factories. The wood we use is always responsibly sourced and FSC® certified (Forest Stewardship Council). And we’re proud to produce the LISABO series – a range recognised with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award.

  • Big company, small-family feeling

At IKEA Industry Poland, we make furniture for families all over the world – so it makes sense that we create a family-like atmosphere for our co-workers too. People here are open, supportive, and always ready to share what they know. Just as importantly, we believe everyone should have time for themselves, their loved ones, and life outside of work.
