Shaped by values

    Building a better future

Our journey in China began with Dalian, where we keep sustainability in mind in everything we do, from using LED lighting and UV technology, to FSC-certified wood and packaging. In Nantong, we have taken another step forward by adding solar panels. With Green Certificates and the Steam Energy Renewable Shift programme, we are working towards 100% renewable energy and recycling 90% of non-wood waste.

    Putting people first

At IKEA Industry, safety and people always come first. We work every day to create safe, inclusive workplaces where co-workers can grow and feel valued. From meeting recognised safety standards to investing in development and well-being, we put care at the heart of our operations. In China, this commitment was recognised when our Dalian site was named one of the Top 10 Employers in the region (2019), a reflection of our vision in action.

Where to find us

Here’s where IKEA Industry operates in China:

Nantong

Our Nantong factory is in the High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Jiangsu Province. Since opening in 2013, it has grown into one of China’s most advanced furniture production sites. In a space of 140,000 square metres, about 350 co-workers work together in a highly automated environment, focused on efficiency, quality, and safety. We keep sustainability in mind in everything we do, from using certified materials to improving our systems, because we want to lead the way in home furnishing for the many people.

Dalian

Our Dalian factory is based in Jinpu New District, a coastal district in Liaoning Province. Since opening in 2006, it has been a part of our journey to make production more sustainable. Today, around 450 co-workers work in a 37,000-square-metre site, producing unique layer-glued furniture and helping us improve how we use raw materials, boost productivity, and keep prices low.
