IKEA Marketing & Communication
Creativity at scale
Travel to the south of Sweden, and in the heart of Älmhult, you'll find the creative engine behind IKEA’s global marketing and communication efforts. Let's take a look at what happens at IMC!
Our creative mission
At IKEA Marketing & Communication (IMC), we spend our time planning, creating and producing content that empowers our retail markets to grow, while positioning IKEA as a purpose-led company and a life-at-home expert. We use our collective creativity to connect IKEA to the hearts and minds of the many people.
"At IKEA, our vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. To make effective communication, one needs to have a fascination in human behaviour. You know how someone can be a ‘people person’? I think of IMC as a ‘people company’."

What we do
At IMC, we craft the majority of the pictures, words, and films used across IKEA’s 60+ markets. We have been a pioneer of new communication technologies throughout our history. We were responsible for producing the iconic catalogue, we were one of the first brands to embrace 3D content production at scale, and our studio in Älmhult is one of the largest production spaces in northern Europe.
Through our brand communication, we aim to inspire 3 billion people to see home as the most important place in the world – and to make it better with IKEA.
"Working at IMC gives me the opportunity to connect with people globally. I get to immerse myself in design and living trends and then produce pictures and films that reach millions – it’s quite surreal!"
