Good design but terrible assemblyChien-ChihGood design but extremely difficult to be assembled. Tens of unthreaded screws are required. And half of them can only be threaded by twisting the screwdriver with your fingers due to very limited space. The poor quality of the screws make it even worse. The most difficult assembly I ever had with IKEA.3
Practical but really cheap qualityGerardI don’t mind particleboard. The veneer is fine. But less than a year in (but conveniently past the returns period) it’s peeling from multiple spots. The first is on the table surface, so I thought maybe my inconsistent coaster use was to blame. But now points on the legs have also started peeling which definitely have not been exposed to any kind of moisture. Assembly was also very difficult given the angles involved and the tweaking required to get the two sides to (sort of) sync up in movement. 2

Avoid assembly unless you’re a contortionistGraceI’m by no means an out of shape person, but Ikea has really outdone themselves on this one. There aren’t many parts, but the angles they force you into are absurd. I super regret this purchase too because somehow their particle board looks even cheaper than it used to. This is going back to the store and I won’t be going in to look at new options after because in my experience the in-person return line takes 20+ minutes. Done with this company.1

Nice but it has issues.PatriciaYou get what you pay for. Before even putting this together some of the legs were chipped. It's a lot of work to put together. Also once completed, the side that opens and closes isn't flush against the table. It's pretty disappointing and the only solution is to lug this heavy table back to the store for a return. The table is nice but it has issues.2

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
