If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.

Great basic design - terribly inflated priceHaydee C.I bought this dresser in 2019 and it's withstood the test of time. I had it natural until I decided to paint it white and it looked brand new again. As with any Ikea dresser, I recommend gluing the drawer bottom panel into the slots to avoid them popping off with the weight of your clothes. That being said, I deducted 2 stars from an otherwise 5-star product because the price is double of what I paid 4 years ago. Times are rough, sure, but I can guarantee you can get a better quality dresser (i.e. one that is painted and finished) than this for the same price.3

Do not buy!Carolina D.We bought this to match our bed frame that we bought at ikea. It is so hard to put together. It took a few tries to get the drawers in a good spot. It scratches up easily, and the knobs are trash. We have had to glue some drawers to keep them from coming apart. It was not worth the price. It’s not good quality at all.1

I had trouble with the drawer slides and had to take it apart and put it back together as I had the slides on the wrong sides. It was frustrating to say the least. Excellent Dresser when finishedJames W.This is a solid wood dresser for a very attractive price. Like all Ikea furniture it rewards careful assembly. I believe it must be finished in some way - I used white stain, which works great, since you can still see the wood through it. I then waxed the top over the stain for waterproofing. You might want to consider staining the pieces individually BEFORE assembly, but that requires a lot of space and patience (but best end result). Kudos to Ikea for making these solid-strip engineered wood products vs the particle board junk one gets just about everywhere else.5

THE WORSTNancy H.I've bought a lot of IKEA furniture and this piece is the absolute worst piece of junk. Not only is the assembly frustrating, once you finally get it together it looks awful. None of the drawers close fully, never mind even align correctly. It's a total joke. It's going straight in the garbage. What a waste of time and money.1
