cribCatherineFor a grandparent the quality and price is perfect!5
Materials great, but measurements offKiraWe have loved our sniglar crib for it being a great option for a simple, untreated wood crib. However, fair warning: the measurements shown here on the page may be incorrect. I spent half as much as the crib on underbed storage bins with lids (also from Ikea) and they don't fit because there is not nearly 7 7/8" underneath like it says there is. So now I have no place in my house to put these large oddly shaped bins and we are not close enough to any physical store to return them.4
Buy it!ValerieIf you’re looking for a timeless and simple piece of furniture for your baby this is it. Yes, there are warning labels stamped onto the wood. They do not come off. I was bummed when I noticed it too but honestly no one and I mean no one else notices or even cares. Your baby won’t care, dad won’t care and anyone else that watches your child WILL NOT NOTICE. It’s for your child’s safety. Get over it. You only notice it because you’re literally building the crib yourself lol Next thing. This crib DOES indeed come with two different sets of holes to adjust the height. The top is obviously for the newborn stage and then as the baby gets older you lower it. This crib converts to a toddler bed by removing one of the longer sides and replacing it with a long piece of wood that keeps the mattress in and sits flush with the frame. I have the newton baby mattress and it fits like a glove! People complain about the silliest things and that shouldn’t stop you from buying this crib!5
MehDanielleIt's a great value crib, but ours came with holes in the wrong place. If you look at the picture, the higher mattress setting is supposed to be about halfway up the rails, but ours was much lower than that, it's slightly higher than the lower setting which will make it uncomfortable to transfer our new baby. It's not worth the hassle of disassembling and returning, but if I had known it would be like this I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.2
Great Crib!SamanthaWe used this crib for our daughter and are now using it for our son. We love it! It has been so easy to set up, convert, and break down each time. When we first got it 3 years ago we thought the wood could be a tiny bit smoother, so we rubbed mineral oil on it while assembling it and that did the trick.5
Waiting to long for this item but I satisfiedKimThis one is expensive more than another crib we can easily find on Amazon for better price, but this one made buy solid wooden, it make me feel warm. Second, I really have emotion on IKEA, thats why I rather this one! The price is worthy of quality (I know it went up $40 recently). Only one thing that Ikea warehouse isn’t close where I live, thats why I have to order it for shipping, and I trying to collect everything I need for one time order but still pay huge amount of shipping cost. Assuming, IKEA make me not regret about their stuff, so I still support them. Hopefully in the future, IKEA should have the limit for free shipping.5
Love my cribRenWhy buy a more expensive crib when you can have this affordable, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable option? I love it. My baby sleeps well.5

This has been the perfectTeriThis has been the perfect bed as our infant is transitioning into a toddler.5
Does not hold upLauraI bought this crib based on recommendation from friends. It is affordable and doesn't look bad. However, it does not hold up. I am writing this review as I hold my son to sleep because the bed collapsed while he was in it. One of the metal pegs that holds up the bed completely fell out of the hole it is supposed to rest in. My son is only 18 months now. I was hoping that this bed would lay into his toddler years since it also comes with a toddler bed conversion kit, but with it collapsing now... There's no way that it would be able to work when he gets older.2
Easy to assemble and aDaveEasy to assemble and a quality product.5
Exactly what we were looking for!ErinWe received our crib a few days ago and it is super easy to put together. It seems really sturdy and well made. It looks great - simple, clean, neutral. It really would go well with most nursery styles. Now we are just anxiously waiting for the matching changing table to be back in stock!5
Love the bed!TishHappy to finally get the bed! Was on the waiting list for 6 months! Came just in time - happy baby!5
Indelible black warnings printed all over rails of cribEllenAlthough the IKEA catalogue shows a pristine wood crib, the crib in the box is covered with indelible black warnings applied directly all over the top sections of the rails. To be clear, the warnings are not on labels but are actually printed directly on the wood. Absurd. Ugly. Undisclosed by IKEA.1
Love!! Simple and elegant (boy nursery)ChristinBought this for our baby boy, he slept in it directly from day 1 and loved it. I did buy a higher/thicker mattress (amazon) which makes it easier to pick him up. The crib was easy to assemble and I love the look. Easy to decorate with any theme and looks so clean and simple. I love it!5
Can’t adjust height, missing holesAriThis crib only has holes for the lower bed setting. It was very difficult and quite painful to bend over the rail to pick up/ put down new baby while recovering from C-section. :( would be perfect otherwise.3
Beautiful simple cribJaclynI looked high and low for an all wood crib to give my nursery a beach modern vibe. This crib is perfect. My husband I are pleased with the price and quality. We got two for our twins’ room. I’ve owned one other crib that was more expensive for my now toddler. I would say this crib is less expensive but comparable in quality!5
Clean lines & unpaintedI’ve bought one for each of our kids. They’re simple and clean without having to wonder where the paint from the crib went when your kids inevitably chews on it. The only thing is I wish the toddler conversion had a rail to keep the kids in but that’s pretty easily fixable with an additional bed rail.5
BeautifulZhannaI purchased this crib for my daughter. It is so worth the price and I do not regret it one bit. Easy to put together and goes with different decor styles.5
Missing partsRickThe crib is missing parts that the store has yet to replace after almost a month. Fortunately we bought this before our baby arrived1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the tree species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.
