Back-up changing matLindaI use this one next to my utility sink where baby has her bath. Love this one for the price as I did not want to buy another expensive one just for bath time, at the other end of the house, far away from the nursery.5
good simple idea - not too large hard to inflateikrusheasy to clean n soft for baby. nice safe bumpers around. however bumpers steal quite a lot of space. my 3 week old when she stretches already takes up the entire length. i used it with my older child also and could only get a few months of use before it got too small. he could only fit diagonally. when inflating, you have to squeeze the nozzle with your teeth before inflating, a bit tough.3
Hard to blow upShineaLightThis changing pad is for my kid's playroom so it's a secondary changing area thus the cheap Ikea table and pad were a good choice. The only thing I don't like about this is how hard it was to blow up. I used my mouth for all of a minute and then used one of those plastic pumps for a balance trainer. That even hurt, doing the CPR move for about 10-15 minutes. But I am overall happy with the purchase.4
Eh....ManiaacI bought this because it got good reviews.i honestly have not been able to blow this trying up. I've tried everything! Its manufactured so sure tight, that it is impossible to blow into...1
Great for Grandma"s House!PghPattiI bought this for when my kids bring their baby to visit, it's idea for a quick and easily stored solution at grandma's house!5
Padded and waterproofamykayI bought this pad to use on the dresser/changing table for my baby. It is plastic, so it is definitely waterproof which I really like. It's also padded nicely so my baby is comfortable. You also can't beat the price! Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the fact that it doesn't come with a safety belt. My changing table does not have sides to hold this on. Hopefully I can find a safety belt to use with it or else this may be put on our upstairs level to be used on the floor.4
Granny HelperBama girlI got this and a cover for the great grandmother to have at her house. Perfect to inflate and deflate as needed.5
It worksBelovedsMomI was skeptical about this item, but it works well. Just make sure it fits snug on top of changing table and/or use safety belt.4
Use it all the time!SarahS05We use this as our downstairs changing mat. The inflatable sides keep our little one on the pad and the pad itself is nicely cushioned. Great deal for the price!5
Love this!AkipBest changing pad. I can use it at home, on the road, deflate to store, and easy to clean5
Everything you want at a great priceMPebleA diaper changing pad is one baby item that you really shouldn't overthink or overpay for. This IKEA item is durable, easy to clean, doesn't smell like nasty plastic, and is a great size for any changing table. the inflatable sides cradle your baby but not so closely that your ability to easily change a diaper is impeded. NOTE: you can also cover this with a regular pillowcase (it fits!)5
Not bulkyVelieBought it for my visitors with babies. Perfect thin and washable5
DisappointedtaskimberlyI love the changing pad, but unfortunately it won't hold air for more than a few hours.2
We love it!ErinMGreat product and great for storage! We have one big foam changing pad and one of these. I wish we bought 2 of these because storing will be so much easier!5
Convenience!FlacaYou can take it everywhere, wash it, really happy I got it..5
Terrific idea!GjsufBought this several months ago and it's one of best purchase I ever had made. Blow it up and use it. I have not had to reinflate it again since. It's also roomier than the contoured changing pads.5

Our take on plastic

Plastic is a key material for IKEA, and remains so going forward. It is strong, durable, lightweight and versatile. It is a main component in a large amount of our products and has a wide variety of applications from surface materials such as paint and foil, to screws and shelf pegs. There is a lot of valid concern regarding how plastic impacts the environment and at IKEA we take this very seriously. As part of our larger circular journey and transition from virgin fossil based material, we are working hard to change all plastic in our home furnishing products to plastic made from recycled and/or renewable raw materials.

Only recycled or renewable plastics

Plastic is most commonly derived from oil and gas, which are non-renewable fossil sources. These sources do not renew themselves and will eventually be depleted. Our ambition is that by 2030, all plastic used in our products will be based on renewable or recycled materials. Renewable plastic is made from materials such as vegetable oil, corn, wheat grain and sugar cane. Recycled plastic allows us to give a second life to non-biodegradable products such as PET bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill. Using recyclable sources also lessens our dependency on oil as a raw material. Currently more than 40% of our plastic products are based on recycled and renewable materials and our aim is to reach 100%. As we add products made from recycled and renewable materials to our offer, we hope to inspire other companies to do the same.

Phasing out single-use plastics

Single-use plastic items pollute ecosystems if not disposed of responsibly. As part of our commitment to people and the planet, all single-use plastic products from the global home furnishing range were phased out in 2020. This includes items such as plates, cups, and plastic straws offered in our restaurants, bistros, and cafes. These were replaced by disposables made from 100% renewable sources.

PET and PP our most commonly used plastics

Polythylene terephthalate (PET) and Polypropylene (PP) are durable, hygienic and shatter-resistant plastics. They absorb very little water and have good chemical resistance. Both PET and PP can be reused and recycled, which reduces waste and gives the product several lives through use and reuse. PET is the most recycled plastic in the world and can be used for many different purposes such as plastic bottles and containers for packaging food and beverages as well as for personal care products, pharmaceuticals and many other consumer products. At IKEA we mainly use recycled PET in boxes, filling material for textiles and kitchen front foil. PET is approved by health-agencies as safe to use for food and beverage. IKEA uses recycled PET that is post-consumer based, which means it is based on collected and sorted PET bottles.

Clean and safe

IKEA takes product safety very seriously and all products are tested and comply with the strictest possible laws and safety standards on all IKEA markets. Customers should always feel confident that products bought at IKEA are safe and healthy to use. IKEA wants to minimize or totally refrain from the use of chemicals and substances that can be harmful to people and the environment.

Together, we can do more

Our journey towards only using recycled or renewable plastic will take some time and require new ways of doing things, but we are determined to take responsibility and find new solutions. We want to give our customers the possibility to choose products made from more sustainable materials that can be recycled again one day. Together, we can make a big difference!
