Perfect with my deskOrvenThis is perfect accent to my micke desk5
Looks greatGlendaly D.We bought these since we were decorating in office. They were the perfect size and they look great.5
Using it without the wheels! Works excellent!!InyoungI love Micke drawer in my study! Before buying it, I worried it wouldn't work without installing wheels. I gave a try anyway. It works fine!! It's perfect next to my desk.5
Very easy to put togetherLoriGreat product.5
For My Craft RoomFranGreat product for crafting storage5
Perfect for my needsThereseI love it and the small Micke desk as my new sewing setup and that it is available in black/brown was ideal. While I never assembled an Ikea piece before, I found the directions easy to follow. I am particularly impressed with those "lock screws" that give the joints stability. Reason for only four stars is that my box missed the printed instructions. Because of that I sorted and counted all small screws, etc. before assembly, but nothing was missing. I only wonder about durability of the release levers in the bottom-drawer tracks, should there be need to remove the drawer occasionally.4
Great office drawersSusanLove this. Holds a lot and easy to put together.5
I love this piece. EasyDarleenaI love this piece. Easy to build by myself and perfect for my office. It fits under the work table, has a file drawer, and is mobile when I need it to be.5
Wasted spaceMarkThe product page doesn't show the drawer (internal) dimensions. I learned why: the top 3 drawers do not extend all the way back, they're 2-1/2" shorter (front/back) than the bottom drawer. That's *a lot* of wasted space hidden inside the cabinet. All drawers are 9-1/4" wide. Top 3 drawers are 14-1/4" deep. Top drawer is 3" tall. Next 2 drawers down are 4" tall (measured to the drawer above). Bottom drawer is 16-3/4" deep, 11-1/8" tall. Without wheels: 27-1/8" tall (you can install the plastic inserts for the wheels, and it will be almost 27-1/2" tall). Without wheels, you should rip 1" off the bottom of the bottom drawer's front (so it will be off the floor a little. It looks good with this "toe kick" appearance).4
PC TowerEricA great place to put PC tower if you want to be able to see it. Fits o11d evo perfectly.5
Perfect! I’m building a “built-in”NancyPerfect! I’m building a “built-in” bookcase; bought 2 of these.5
Nice drawer unitNuzhatWas fairly easy to assemble, well explained in the book and thanks to you tube videos shows step by step to assemble. I wanted to put it under the desk but if I remove the casters the file drawer scratches the floor. I guess i have to raise the desk about 2” so it will fit under . I bought two and in one of the unit last drawer holes were not aligned so I’ve to go to IKEA again 😠 But everything else was pretty good4
Great office cabinetHumeyraBought this for my office and it is perfect 10/10 recommend5
Love itJackieThere are a lot of screws, but patience is all it takes to get all the drawers installed.5
Thumbs Up!JuanNo complaints, looks good in my sons room and fairly simple to assemble.5
Great small file cabinetMichelleI got this to go with my Micke desk. This is a nice small file cabinet (or if you need additional desk drawers). The bottom drawer has a wheel on it to help with moving the drawer open/close. There are also metal racks in the bottom drawer that can be adjusted to fit either standard letter-size hanging file folders. One of the previous reviews stated that you had to buy IKEA file folders to use in this cabinet. That is incorrect. You can you standard size (letter 8 1/2 x 11) letter size hanging file folders (I know I took some from work to try and they fit great) in the bottom. You just have to adjust the metal racks - as you would in a standard office file cabinet.5
Good valueKevinI bought this to go along with a Micke desk without built in side drawers. I'm glad I did because the combination of the two is very flexible and I have been able to rearrange my office area a couple times easily with them. The drawer unit is a good value. It seems very sturdy and should last a long time.5
FileVickeyThis is the third one of these i have purchased. Love them.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"My idea with the MICKE series was to simplify everything we do with our computers and mobile phones in today's high-tech world. Like keeping in touch with friends, downloading films and music, working or printing out tickets. The goal was to create a real dream product with maximum functions in a minimum space. One smart thing is the built-in cable management, so you can hide away all the cables. Another is that all the parts have the same depth and height so everyone can create their own favorite combination."
