Worth the moneyKayThis couch was easy to assemble comfy and won’t lose its shape and sag which I love comfy and I like how even the armrests are flat and cushiony versus round hard. I also like how if I change my mind I can buy the different cover and don’t have to buy an entire new couch if I have a different theme. Also comfy to sleep on and my brother is taller he’s five’9
And if it’s comfy5
More comfortable than I expected.ALLISONWe've had this couch for a couple of weeks now. It was a bit of work putting it together and ironing thr slip covers, but the result is nice. I wish it was a bit higher off of the ground, but we will get used to it. The fabric we picked for it seems sturdy.5
Good couch for small apartmentYzaira M.Good size couch for small apartments. Also really comfortable5
hard uncomfortable nearly indestructableLewwBought this to replace a couch that movers destroyed. Nearly five years later and it looks brand new. HOWEVER, it is the most uncomfortable couch i have ever endured. I keep hoping it will soften up. NOPE..2
KIVIK sofa... love it!Gumpers62I had a KIVIK before the break-up... now I was finally able to get another. It's one of the most comfortable sofas I've sat on or relaxed on.5
Great sofaCoco2021Love this sofa! I highly recommend if you purchase this sofa to purchase an extra cover. By the time you need to replace it Ikea would have discontinued your color. To: Ikea Please bring back Isundra Gray! It's the best color EVER!4
Uncomfortable and does not change over timeKimmy must doI got this sofa 7 years ago. It was a bit firm but over time didn’t soften. It’s easy enough for a girl to put together alone but the covers are a complete pain to wash. You must completely disassemble to wash the full cover. Wayyyy too time consuming. I’ve had to buy 3 new covers in 7 years. Excessive. I hate this piece and can not wait to replace. Do not but this junk. Pros you can put taller legs on the sofa so it doesn’t look like it’s sitting on the ground. If you don’t replace the legs the sofa is too low and I’m only 5’4” 127 lbs.1
Love this CouchJimiJamI've been wanting to get a good quality couch without the hefty price tag to I bought this couch. My parents have a couple kivik love seats and chase lounge, so I already knew what to expect. I haven't been disappointed so far. I'm also a 5'2 female and put this together by myself in about a hour and a half. It was surprisingly very easy to assemble. I would definitely buy this couch again.5
Great value for a sleek timeless lookStacy60I bought my Kivik almost 3.5 years ago and haven't looked back. I replaced the plastic feet with 5 wooden feet to bring it up a bit. It looks fantastic! It's comfortable, it's large enough for the dogs and kids (especially with the ottoman which I also purchased feet for) I love this sofa!!5
Comfortable and looks goodml52Recently bought a Kivik sofa and loveseat for my living room. They look great (I picked the red upholstery). They're also very comfortable. I like the wide, flat armrests because I can set down book, magazine, phone, remote, etc. Note that the cushions have a back and a front: the side meant to face the sitter has extra padding, so make sure during assembly to face the cushioned side out. I positioned the sofa and loveseat at right angles to each other and filled the corner with a square Hemnes coffee table, which exactly fills the space.5
Looks greatPants2019Put it together yesterday, warning, it comes in like 3 MASSIVE boxes. Not easy to put together by yourself. A part of the particle board just fell off when I put the sides together. With that said, we have 3 kids and a dog and a cat and this fabric is great. We got the dark blue option.4
Comfort, Looks & Easy To AssembleHappySofaGreat look, comfort and value.5
Comfortable Durable Sofa - Love Changeable CoversKristyHWe love our Kivik sofa and chaise! We have had it for 6 years and it has held up very well. Very comfortable and I love that I can change the covers on it. Right now I have Dark Grey and Purple covers and I change them out seasonally - grey for winter and purple for summer. I need new purple covers! Please Ikea make a purple cover again!5
Great buyKelly50I bought this sofa a year and half ago and still love it. It was a great buy. Has held its shape and the cover still looks new. I have slept on it many nights and found it very comfortable. Easy to assemble.5
I thought it would get better, alas, it did not.twodaisiesI've been an IKEA shopper since the 80's, I've even bought and installed an entire IKEA kitchen, but this was my first couch purchase and I'm so disappointed. I bought the KIVIK after a lot of research and a lot of back and forth between this and more expensive couches, and while the couch has retained it's shape after a year, it is by far the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat on. The cushions are like rocks. The fabric, while durable, it's not the least bit pleasant to sit on. I am looking to replace this thing already, and I've only had it a year. I'm giving it a two star rating for the fact that it is indeed a couch, and it survived a year without falling apart. Also it was easy enough to assemble, but, like I said I've put an IKEA kitchen together so I'm not sure if that's a ringing endorsement.2
Durable and comfortablehappycamper7I purchased this sofa 7 years ago for my therapy office, I bought a natural cover and two extra covers (the natural colored covers are not currently offered) expecting they would wear and soil easily. I have only used 2 of the covers and have washed and changed them out every three or four years. The cushions have maintained their shape and comfort. The height works well for everyone I see in my office. This sofa has been well used by adults and children. I have been so pleased with this sofa I am planning to buy two additional ones for my new office space to go with the old one...which actually still looks pretty new.5
Great buyElucevanI bought a white Kivik sofa about 4 or 5 years ago when IKEA was giving a $50.00 store card as an incentive. Three moves after and the sofa is still in great shape. My grandson has slept on it when he comes visiting from the Navy, my younger son too. Except for a small tear caused by my puppy, the sofa still looks good, is comfortable, and proven a great buy. It’s modern lines loo’ great in my living and it’s amazing for relaxing with a book or good movie. I am planning to buy a new cover to repair puppy’s damage.5
In love with this couch!giselle97This couch definitely exceeded my expectations! I was looking for a modern looking couch that was also comfortable and could be used to sleep on for guests, and this couch is exactly what I was looking for. It's firm but still cushion-y enough to be comfortable for sitting or sleeping and looks super chic in my living room. It's a pretty good size as well and it looks very high quality for the price. Assembly was relatively straightforward and took less than an hour! Super happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable modern-looking couch!5
Wow, the most uncomfortable sofa imaginableIkea RegretThis has got to be the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever owned. Trying out the floor model in the store it seemed pretty good, if a little bit firm. The floor model was very dirty, so I did not spend more than 30 seconds trying it out. I liked the deeper seat and thought it was the most modern looking of Ikea's sofas, so I ordered one online in the blue color. Delivery was great, right on schedule. I put the sofa together in about an hour. No issues there. It feels very sturdy. But, after sitting on it for just 15 minutes I now seriously regret buying this. All the cushions are way too firm. This is not the type of comfy sofa you can sink into for a movie night. These cushions are so firm it almost feels like the sofa is trying to push me off. My lower back is already starting to hurt, and I know I will probably never want to sit on this sofa going forward. Seriously, I am sitting on the sofa as I am writing this, and it is so uncomfortable, I want to get up and sit somewhere else. The second complaint is the fabric cover. Do you like sitting on rough sand paper? Then maybe you will like this fabric. Seriously, this fabric is so coarse and abrasive -- it feels terrible against the skin. I had to put a blanket over the entire sofa so my skin won't get rubbed raw. If this was a brand new sofa to the Ikea lineup I would be a bit more understanding, but this sofa has been around for a long time. They must know by now that the Kivik is incredibly uncomfortable, and just don't care to make it better. So, to sum up: Pros: -Easy to put together -Solid Construction -Looks modern enough Cons: -Cushions are way too firm. Back problems will be inevitable. -Fabric was created by a sadist.1
Not comfortableOneStopShopIt took us over a month to chose between 3 Ikea sofas. Hours of sitting and deliberating. Unfortunately, once we put it together, the cushions are extremely hard and uncomfortable. It was nothing like the cushions in the show room, which were firm but giving. The cushion covers don't stay in place and have to be reset often with minimal use (there's two of us and we are rarely home). I have a lot of Ikea furniture that's been with me over 10yrs and still going strong. I'd hoped this sofa would last the same. We are disappointed to say the least.2
