Product details

The sturdy solid pine frame has natural variations in grain, color and texture, giving every piece a unique look. And it has been stained and lacquered making it more durable and easy to care for.

You can sit up comfortably in bed thanks to the high headboard – just prop some pillows behind your back and you will have a comfortable place to read or watch TV.

Beautiful craftsmanship all the way around. Why not place it in the middle of the room to create impact?

There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes – great for stowing extra quilts and sheets.

The high footboard keeps bed textiles from falling onto the floor while you sleep.

Adjustable bed sides allow you to use mattresses of different thicknesses.

Easy to get in and out of bed because the mattress base makes the bed higher.

Broken beamJill C.My son has had this bed for less than a year. The center support beam sheared and broke, causing the mattress to cave in. The bed should have a warranty. We are very disappointed with this purchase.1
Footboard brokeMaKayla M.Easy to build, light weight. But not stable. Creaks and slides and then the foot board split in half1
Slight imperfections but nothing majorToddSlight imperfections but nothing major Heavy and hard to assemble Extremely sturdy, good material4
Good until it brokeJason NguyenHorrible quality. Didn’t even last for 2 years. The headboard just came loose and detached itself from the frame1
ExplanationWendy3fanI love the bed and very easy to put together. I would just suggest more discussion on website regarding the different bases for this bed.4
Footboard brokeJULIEDelFootboard broke! Split down the middle. Very frustrating. Ikea, please help. I can't give it more than one star because it is broken.1
HorribleHank2trentWe've had this bed shortly over 2 years now. it did not make it a year before it broke the first time. It always comes apart in a different spot. And much like the other reviews, we've put extra screws, supports and wood glue on this thing to keep it together. I'm very vigilant about reading online reviews before purchasing anything these days. These were not available when we purchased the bed. IKEA is wonderful, this particular product should never be purchased however......1
Very Poor qualityink19We bought this bed about 2 years ago and now it has started to creak and shake everytime we get on or off the bed, the locking nuts are getting loose and popping out. I tried to tighten one of them and the screw went right through the head board frame. We do not feel comfortable or safe sleeping on it. We are out of the 1 year warranty so there is nothing to do but throw it out. Ikea should have never sold this product knowing the issues it has with this product. Wanted to give 1 star but we have spent $$$ at ikea and this is our first bad expereince, hence the 3 stars giving them the benefit of the doubt.3
SUCKS !!! REMOVE FROM BUYINGDreaa13This product is not good at all the footboard just broke as well it is really creaky this needs to be removed from buying cause this is not worth someone’s hard worked money !1
Flimsy, unsafe, cheapAzreal13I bought this bed frame for my daughter. It lasted 2 months the left head board split apart. I had to go to Lowe’s to get clamps to screw the side together. A month later the other side split and the bed dropped down violently to the floor. Unbelievable you would sell this cheap product still knowing from the reviews the potential for serious injury. A total refund is what you should provide. Sadly, her dad who lives out of state bought the bed, so there’s nothing I can do about it except warn other customers not to buy this bed frame.1
LOVED it, until it BROKE.Amanda PappMy husband and i bought this bed frame just a few weeks ago and initially had some concerns when putting it together about the lack of stability and the way the headboard struggled to stay together. Tonight when I sat on the bed, the box spring FELL THROUGH the bed frame onto the floor and completely split the head board apart. Needless to say we are sleeping on the couch and extremely irritated. My family has bought furniture from ikea for YEARS so we were excited when we moved into our new house and furnished it completely from here. However, after this experience, I don’t see us ever buying a single thing from ikea again.1
Looks great...but doesn’t last.sunshine24752We bought this bed maybe 2 years ago. while it looks great, we had the footboard break this morning. Clearly there isn’t enough support in the middle to hold the actual frame that supports the mattress.2
Looks good, but poor constructionEndgame77I love the Hemnes collection, but this bed frame is horrible. The footboard broke like just like the other reviews said. I had it about a year when I went crashing to the ground.1
Good while it lastsBlitchfI purchased this bed a little over three years ago. It worked really well during that time. Unfortunately, I came home the other day to discover the footboard coming apart - which appears to be a recurring problem from these reviews. You could see the areas where it had been glued to the remainder of the foot board. So, I dismantled the bed because I felt that it was no longer safe for use. It was good while it lasted but I am going to actually just go out and purchase a real bed. I was going to give IKEA another shot but the inability to reach customer service by phone - higher than normal call times which leads to the end of the call - and having the customer service person over e-mail tell me that I need to schlep back up to the store really just ticked me off. Bottom line - it's a good bed and it works for a few years, but if you're looking for something long-term, you're probably better off paying the money to buy a real wooden bed. If you want to spend $300 every few years, that's cool. I just prefer not to do so.1
Looks great but very creakyKc247My husband and I have been sleeping on this with one of Ikea's mattresses for the past month. We bought it new for my parents guest room while we stay here while buying a house. It looks very nice but I noticed the past week it has started creaking every time I sit on it or roll over in the night. We have the slats underneath the mattress, not sure if that has to do with it. It is really annoying but luckily won't be our long term bed. But now we know we don't want to buy one when we do buy a house. I would say it is great for a guest room but not what you want if you are going to be sleeping on it night after night.3
Great frame - for about a year....ed2014We bought this bed about a year ago, but like everyone else on this thread, the foot board shattered and now we are looking to replace or repair it.1
Beautiful Bed ... Horrible Qualitymariaeliz1234I loved the look of this bed, but just experienced the same thing others are mentioning - the foot board totally shattered on me while I was lying in it. It was a startling experience. The search for a new bed begins.1
Flimsy bed which creaks all the timeArjun SadahalliWe bought this bed about a week ago and I have to admit we are very unhappy with this purchase. We got a King bed with Luroy slatted base and it constantly creaks. The creak sounds are such that you will feel it may break anytime soon, and they are loud to the point that it wakes up a sleeping person. The assembly was a tad bit tougher than the other Ikea products I have used, and it looked fimlsy once assembled. That is, I had to move the whole bed by about half a feet and it was yawing (twisting) big time. This is with the mid beam in place and the bed completely assembled. Also, the installation hardware which was provided with the bed too was flimsy as one of it broke upon tightening. We have experience using two other Ikea beds (Malm and Trysil) and we had no issues with them except that one of them were damaged in the box and I had to return and repurchase, which was not an issue. We wanted to get something different this time and looks like we made a wrong decision. We highly value Ikea's products for its value for money, but this totally is not the case with this bed. @Ikea: I do see that there are many reviews for this bed along these lines. So, is there anything you are doing to address the customers concerns?1
Looks great but built badLpgarzalp08This bed is very good looking but unfortunately that is it. Last night as me and my wife laid in the bed, the footboard just totally fell apart and eventually we went crashing into the floor in the middle of the night. We had it for a little over 3 years. It was engineered very poorly and feel like I am out quite a bit of money now.1
UpgradeName_Not_FoundI have yet to experience any of the trouble that other buyers have had, so maybe IKEA has upgraded the quality on this due to the review. This bed turned out to be easier than expected to put together, there's also a ton of help online in case you get stuck. It's gorgeous and the underneath roll-out storage is a must! The quality is great and for the price you can't beat it.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the tree species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.
