Assemblyiris r.The dresser is very sturdy and looks great…. But the instructions are terrible. No labeling of wood parts nor actual labeling on the instruction sheets. We had to watch some you tube videos multiple times to assemble. Compared to a bedside table from Wayfair which is very heavy, and very well labeled with pieces named and weather front/ back. Plus the runners were already attached to drawers! IKEA, you need to do better with assembly instructions and labeling of parts.4
Horrible instructionsAMYI really like the look of the HEMNES dresser, but the instructions are difficult to follow. I had to return the dresser because the drawers stuck or didn't slide in evening to properly close.1

Nice dresser, complicated assemblyMary M.It took me over 3 hours to assemble the dresser (with one helper for a few steps). Be sure to check the assembly booklet before you buy! It can be fun, but only if you enjoy this sort of thing. All the pieces were cut to size and drilled perfectly. The frustrating part is identifying the pieces. There are scores of wooden pieces and only 4 are supposed to be marked, and in my case, one of those was not marked. All the other pieces you have to identify by how big they look in the instructions and where the holes are. Other manufacturers mark all the pieces either by stamping them or with stickers. The drawer slides are cheap and not really up to par with modern drawer hardware. The system for attaching to your wall is clever and results in the strap not showing.4

Truly Worth ItJOHANNAOkay so I gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because of the instructions booklet, otherwise it would have been a solid 5 stars. I followed the visual instruction booklet (as best as I could) over a 3 day period. I made sure to pay attention to every detail and was successful all the way until the plywood back installation, truly confusing to the point that I nailed to the front part of the dresser (after shedding a few tears I made myself to Home Depot and was able to repair it). I had contacted Ikea prior nailing the wrong end but they referred me to a third party company who was mostly interested in making an appointment as opposed to helping me solve the issue right there and then. This should be strike 2. Other than that, the dresser is great, solid wood, as expected and good value for the price, I would recommend it. Just make sure you have plenty of patience and an eye for interpretation as you will have NO HELP from Ikea.4

White stain on hemenes dresser and chest are garbageRuth M.IKEA furniture is good but when they take out the white glossy shine on the hemnes dresser and chest and put that’s stupid white stain that’s shit is garbage now they bring the white stain I was very disappointed with my purchased I wanted a white glossy finish for my kids room I ended up with white stain for all that money on the hemnes dresser and chest going to return the white stain later on cause my kids are small and that stain white with no glossy finish is garbage.1

Love itDanicaIts so roomy! I can fit a ton of stuff in this dresser. Drawers glide really smoothly. Bottom drawers are so deep I can fit tons of sweaters in them. Top drawers are perfect for socks, underwear, etc. only complaint: wish the drawers were soft close. Otherwise great product.5
