Product details

A simple unit can be enough storage for a limited space or the foundation for a larger storage solution if your needs change.

You can choose to place the cabinet on the floor or mount it on the wall to free up floor space.

Assembly is quick and easy, thanks to the wedge dowel that clicks into the pre-drilled holes.

Almost impossible to buildMiriam S.The assembly process almost took me down. Down to a sad, dark, dark place. In lieu of regular screws, it is necessary to wedge into place plastic screws that required maximum force to set into place — including sitting on it, jumping on it with the full force of a grown adult, and ultimately banging it at full intensity and speed with a hammer, which admittedly provided an outlet for the pent up frustration. Do not buy this unless you are ready to face the ultimate challenge1
Cute, but hardware is visibleJoanneInstallation hardware was not included, and is visible once installed. I plan on getting some paper to put in the back of the squares to hide the hardware, but wish it was just a different kind. For the price, I think the hardware should have been included.4
Difficult to assembleAriel Y.I read the reviews and the difficult the cabinet is to assemble but I bought it anyway, which I don't completely regret because I live the design, but I'll definitely have to get a real rabbit person to assist. The directions for mounting the shelf are especially vague.2
Great add-on. Easy to assembleLizianeGreat add-on. Easy to assemble with other eket combinations.5
Eket cubeJohnGenerally a good product, but assembly requires a rubber mallet and pad to get things to actually align. Assembly instructions require very careful attention to exact assembly order and to which part is which. If you mount the legs, you must drill pilot holes. The screws will not self-tap. Just be careful not to drill all the way through base.4
Excellent itemSANDRAExcellent item5
Overall nice, do need to watch fitKEVINWe have purchased these twice, first when they came out and recently. First overall nice, but assembled version of second set was off a couple millimeters from previous (taller). Also the original base feet, which had a horizontal wood piece between let’s no longer available. So our legs do not match.4
Perfect solution!LeesaMy so. Needed a small shelf to put his small stereo receiver in and this worked great. We cut a small hole I. The back for the cords and attached a small laminate board to the top with command strips to set his turntable on. Perfect solution!5
Excellent storage option!MELISSAFunctional, attractive, organizational tool. I love the EKET series!5
Love it my folders fit,ElizabethLove it my folders fit, and I have my printer on top.5
Not consistent in looks and unstableNoy B.I got 6 to build a 3x2 or stairs like design. Each cube is slightly different than the other and the parts to attach them together barely does anything and it vents at the front. I don’t recommend. Way too expensive for the what you get2
WonderfulJanI have some other cubes and wanted another one. This was just perfect for my room.5
Useful in every space.VictoriaIKEA’s little boxes, one called the EKET, are strong, attractive in several colors, are great in every room, including the garage. They can be attached to each other to create various shapes, or be used simply alone or stacked.5
Would not recommend for vinyl storage with outer sleevesNATALIE P.I bought this based on other reviews stating they used this for vinyl storage. If you archive your vinyl in outer sleeves, then I would not recommend this unit. Bare vinyl covers just barely clear the opening and not all of my vinyl covers fit. I previously bought the 4 cube EKET and that works perfectly. About a 1/2 inch of clearance above vinyl covers giving plenty of extra room. I didn't have enough room for another 4 cube EKET, so I went for 2 single cubes and these do not have the same interior dimensions. I knew this going in, but since others were using it for vinyl, I figured I would be good. I'll make due with it because I need the extra storage, but if you have the space, definitely go for the 4 cube unit.4
Dimensionally Wrong ConstructionEun C.This is the worst ikea product I’ve ever had so far. It doesn’t fit last part and ridiculously doesn’t make sense. Please listen to the reviews that are similar to mine.1
Perfect size for vinylsAnna M.The one and only thing I dislike about them is how much force it takes to put the pieces together, I thought I was breaking it. But other than that I love it. I bought it to store vinyls and they fit perfectly and it looks beautiful!!4
This is not as simple as it looksKevinWe have bought and constructed MANY Ikea products in different cities and countries and this one confounded us which only maddened us as it SEEMS so simple. It is NOT. We could not get the cube square which would defy Rubik. It is by far the simplest product we have ever bought from Ikea and it gave us the most trouble. There are two depths of this product and it seems very utile. They need to redo the instructions.3
Vinyl record storageTonyWorks perfectly for storing vinyl records!5
Not what I expectedWilliamNot what I expected1
Loved The CubesCathyWe purchased 3 cubes in different sizes. I loved the color choices & the fact that they could be mounted on the walls. Unfortunately, they were too big for the small bathroom we bought them for. We will use them somewhere else though.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
