It’s not only the TV that’s smart! BESTÅ TV units combine contemporary good looks with practical function. You get lots of storage space and relief from cables that tend to get messy and gather dust.

Product details

A wall-mounted TV unit creates a clean, airy look and there are no legs that get in the way when you vacuum the floor.

It’s easy to keep the cords from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cord outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The cable outlet at the top lets cords run down smoothly into the TV bench.

The shelves are adjustable so you can customize your storage as needed.

You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.

Optimize and organize your BESTÅ storage with boxes and inserts that you like.

  • We recommend a TV bench to be a bit wider than the TV placed on it. This TV bench suits a TV up to 72 inches. You can choose a larger TV if it’s not heavier than the specified max load for the bench’s top.

The top panel of the TV bench is intended for a TV with a maximum weight of 110 lbs.

If you choose the soft closing function for your BESTÅ, we recommend complementing the fronts with knobs/handles to make the drawers/cabinets more convenient to open.

The max. load for a wall-hung TV bench depends on the wall material.

Different wall materials require different types of fasteners. Use fasteners suitable for the walls in your home.

If you are uncertain about what type of mounting devices to use, please contact your local hardware store.

Product was faultyRebecca C.I normally love IKEA furniture and have never had a problem before, but I had an issue with this piece. The two interior pieces that separate the 3 sections had holes for the screws in the wrong place, so they ended up sticking out about a half inch from the unit, which means the shelves and the doors are also all misaligned. I did not notice this problem until I had assembled the whole unit and screwed all 16 cam locks in place. At this point, I can't disassemble it to drill new holes in the right places to fix the problem. I chatted with someone online who told me I had to go into the store to fix the issue because I bought it in the store (because shipping was unavailable). The agent told me I had to disassemble it to bring it in the store, but if I could disassemble it then I would be able to fix the problem by drilling new holes! At this point the entire unit is unusable and I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.1
Terrible QualityTrang N.TERRIBLE QUALITY and mostly made of cardboard. They didn't want me posting my first review even though it was mostly about the quality of the product. Do not buy this if you want to wall mount it as the Spacing between the actual hardware mount that is provided DOES NOT MATCH UP WITH AMERICAN STANDARD WALL STUDS.1
Oh my is this cheaply made.DEONWe were in a bind for storage and shelves solutions during a complete remodel of the living and dining rooms. In the mist of a covid-19 and supply chain issues, we purchased several BESTA systems while we could. We didn't get everything of course and decided to wait until the remodel was done and IKEA's inventory recovered. Fast forward 9 months later and the remodeling is done and we start putting together the BESTA furniture. Right a way we knew this stuff looked good, but it wasn't gonna last. We're not new to IKEA and have purchase many things over years and years. But this stuff...It's the cheapest particleboard I've ever seen! The side walls are thin and 50% hollow. So much so that when you take them out of the box you can hear some of the loose insides falling in the middle. I know particleboard is lightweight and cheap, but this is stuff is on a whole new level. If you buy it, just make sure your not planning of moving it around much. The taller systems WILL NEED SOME EXTRA BRACING SUPPORT IN THE BACK to keep it from shifting. Please make sure to support them to a wall.3
How to mount unit????DAT V.How do you mount the unit???? I can see Ikea sells the Besta rails but another reviewer said it doesn't work for this TV unit??? HELP!3
Can I add legs and place it directly on the floor?Fernanda C.I love the proportion of this TV unit but can´t hang it on my wall; are there additional legs I can add (is it easy?) so I can place it directly on the floor?5
Mounting brackets do not align with studs in wallsGina K.The TV unit is fine, assembly was easy to follow for the most part. My issue was the wall mount set up - like a previous reviewer mentioned, the mounting brackets are spaced unevenly apart: 20", 23" and 20" while the typical wall will have studs spaced the standardized 16" apart. Does Ikea expect consumers to just drill into drywall without stud support? I thought my problem could be solved by purchasing a separate BESTA suspension rail, but it turns out the rail works for all BESTA products EXCEPT for this TV unit. I ended up needing to improvise my own wall mount backing for this unit. If you are planning on floating this unit on the wall, I recommend not installing the metal mounting brackets until you know how you will be mounting it.3
Kallviken Not actually concrete effect at allOlivia G.I specifically ordered the kallviken concrete effect to match my coffee table that’s also concrete. And the kallviken absolutely is not a concrete effect at all. I’m highly unsatisfied. It looks nothing like the picture. Highly disappointed.1
Great ProductChabellyIt was an amazing activity to put this product together but IKEA needs to make those instructions better, it was difficult to understand a few steps but in the end, the results were great!5
Great 👍LuisGreat perfect of what I was looking for5
Pretty and functionalMaureenAfter stalking the website we were able to locate the 2 of these that we were looking for. The textured doors are particularly nice. Looks great- only complaint is that the store/website says you don’t use a rail system to hang and we ended up having to engineer a fairly complex hanging cleat to securely install4
CAN NOT MOUNT TO STUDS!!!Eric L.Don’t expect to mount this thing to any 16” spacing studs. The mounting bracket’s are spaces 23”, 20”, 23”. As an engineer, whoever designed and approved this thing should be fired.1
OilyLenis D.Doors getting oily coming from the Besta soft closing/push-open hinge. It’s that normal?1
Great cabinet. Looks more expensiveSTACIGreat cabinet. Looks more expensive than is.5
First time shopper and extremely dissapointedDanielle S.I spent two hours "designing" my own BESTA cabinet for a project only to find out that ZERO of the items (including but not limited to this tv unit frame, doors, hinges, shelves) were NOT available for shipping OR pick-up. I do not understand why this is not conveyed on the product page. What a waste of time.1
Besta cabinetsBABATUNDEJust what I was looking for. Finished product was great and met my expectation.5
Besta VersatileValerieUsing as an under window bench. Height with additional feet purchased is perfect. Quality is the reason for 3 stars. Came with chip on top piece. Also drawer closing mechanism is not great on one of the doors, hit or miss. Looks good!3
SurprisedOrlandoI am surprised how good this product works after putting it together usually when you buy a product that you have to put together it looks OK not as good as it does on a picture but this product for my Kia is very good instructions are very well put together were you understand very well and easy to assemble after putting it together it looks wonderful and you have the option of putting it on the wall or on the floor this product is very customizable I only have one small issue which is the last door that I put on that’s not exactly aligned flushed it is a little crooked you can’t really tell though for my distance you would have to be very close but other than that it’s wonderful I am very well experienced and putting things together so this was a ease I love IKEA products highly recommend5
Love itAnonymousI always put my Ikea furniture together myself, this a relatively easy one. Just be sure to lay the pieces at the same angle/direction that you have the instructions, and look at the holes to make sure you have the right side up etc. I'm a small, 60yr old woman, and was able to attach it to the wall myself! What I did was set it on couple of milk crates to get it at the height I wanted, and simply drilled right through the holes, secured it, then slid the crates out from under it. My living room is extremely hard to work with, original 1970's cut wood paneling (painted white) and dropped ceiling with wood beam grid, if you can image that. Honestly, this Besta gives it a modern high end vibe, brought it all together, now it appears as if I actually did the ceilings and walls like that on purpose. Now, I've decided I want to switch out the doors to the white gloss they have, because my daughter gave me her white glass Ikea Strim table. I wish I thought of it before the purchase, but am glad I have the option to change it out. Everyone loves the look.5
Smoked glass not so "smokey"...KyleWe received the cabinet on the original ETA, however, we were missing the doors. When we contacted IKEA, they said they didn't have them in stock. Why would they sell them to us if they didn't have them in stock? We then had to wait another month before receiving the doors. We paid extra for the smoked glass doors. They do not appear close to what the website displays. They are not transparent at all and there are no exterior frames (as the website makes it appear.) The frames are actually behind the glass. In addition to this disappointment, one of our soft-close hinges does not work properly.3

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
