Nice but not mountableJenevahIt didn’t take long to put together but everyone is correct when they say that it won’t align to the American studs. The metal pieces are off by a couple inches when I try to center it to my wall. I’m currently creating a workaround which is taking longer than what it took to put the piece together. If you’re leaving it on the ground, it’s easy. If you’re mounting it, prepare to get creative.
DisappointedAndiiThere’s black print, similar to an expiration date mark, on the front of each of the 3 doors - all in different spots. That’s so low quality. In addition, the doors are crooked - not sure if that’s the task rabbit fault or an issue with hole alignment with the pieces. Taking into account the cost of the unit, delivery, and assembly, I spent a decent amount and would’ve expected more.
Wall mountBenDo not buy unit if you want to wall mount it . It is not set up for United States the studs do not align with this product
Awful!AmberI have ikea everything. My full kitchen is ikea assembled by your truly. I would rather assemble a full kitchen of cabinets again than have to deal with this single unit. The screws seem to be slightly imperfect and impossible to get aligned and screwed in (that is with an electric drill...I can't imagine trying to assemble this with a muscle powered screwdriver). I have taken the doors and hinges off at least 3 times trying to get the doors to align to no avail. I have used the alignment screws on the hinges, I have watched every YouTube assembly hack video out there and all to no avail. This thing is the worst!!!!!!
Do not buy!!TaylorAwful. Does not line up correctly. I spent 4 hours switching the doors around putting them on and off trying to get it to look right. Do not buy. Save yourself the time and money.
Love the ability to customize!LindseyI love the push-open hinges. Put several besta cabinets together along the back of the sofa and my only complaint is that the shorter versions come with brackets to connect/stabilize stacked cabinets, but the longer ones (like this one) does not. Would be nice to be able to connect/stabilize the cabinets horizontally as well as stacked/vertically so that it’s a little more cohesive. The tops could be a bit better quality as well. But I think I’m just going to get a custom glass piece for the top. Should help with the stabilizing neighbored pieces too.
You have to know what you're doingHongJust like rest of the other reviews stated, this tv stand is beautiful but difficult to mount. I really wanted a wall mounted tv stand and this is by far the best I could find. The ones I saw on Amazon looked really good but had a lot of bad reviews. This one had bad reviews but with reasons.
I had to custom make the wall mount myself. The bracket they recommended didn't do the job. Whatever bracket solution you come up with, you really have to make sure that it 1.) can be secured to the wall studs and 2.) secured to the tv stand.
It took some creative thinking on my part but it worked.
I've had this tv mount for over six months now, every time someone comes over, they always ask where I got the tv stand. I had led lights in it, beautifully shining over PS5, board games, controllers.
Couldn't be happier. If only they let me upload the pictures here
BestaDouglasNice clean look
Product was faultyRebeccaI normally love IKEA furniture and have never had a problem before, but I had an issue with this piece. The two interior pieces that separate the 3 sections had holes for the screws in the wrong place, so they ended up sticking out about a half inch from the unit, which means the shelves and the doors are also all misaligned. I did not notice this problem until I had assembled the whole unit and screwed all 16 cam locks in place. At this point, I can't disassemble it to drill new holes in the right places to fix the problem.
I chatted with someone online who told me I had to go into the store to fix the issue because I bought it in the store (because shipping was unavailable). The agent told me I had to disassemble it to bring it in the store, but if I could disassemble it then I would be able to fix the problem by drilling new holes! At this point the entire unit is unusable and I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.
Terrible QualityTrangTERRIBLE QUALITY and mostly made of cardboard.
They didn't want me posting my first review even though it was mostly about the quality of the product. Do not buy this if you want to wall mount it as the Spacing between the actual hardware mount that is provided DOES NOT MATCH UP WITH AMERICAN STANDARD WALL STUDS.
Oh my is this cheaply made.DeonWe were in a bind for storage and shelves solutions during a complete remodel of the living and dining rooms. In the mist of a covid-19 and supply chain issues, we purchased several BESTA systems while we could. We didn't get everything of course and decided to wait until the remodel was done and IKEA's inventory recovered. Fast forward 9 months later and the remodeling is done and we start putting together the BESTA furniture. Right a way we knew this stuff looked good, but it wasn't gonna last. We're not new to IKEA and have purchase many things over years and years. But this stuff...It's the cheapest particleboard I've ever seen! The side walls are thin and 50% hollow. So much so that when you take them out of the box you can hear some of the loose insides falling in the middle. I know particleboard is lightweight and cheap, but this is stuff is on a whole new level. If you buy it, just make sure your not planning of moving it around much. The taller systems WILL NEED SOME EXTRA BRACING SUPPORT IN THE BACK to keep it from shifting. Please make sure to support them to a wall.
How to mount unit????DatHow do you mount the unit???? I can see Ikea sells the Besta rails but another reviewer said it doesn't work for this TV unit??? HELP!
Can I add legs and place it directly on the floor?FernandaI love the proportion of this TV unit but can´t hang it on my wall; are there additional legs I can add (is it easy?) so I can place it directly on the floor?
Mounting brackets do not align with studs in wallsGinaThe TV unit is fine, assembly was easy to follow for the most part. My issue was the wall mount set up - like a previous reviewer mentioned, the mounting brackets are spaced unevenly apart: 20", 23" and 20" while the typical wall will have studs spaced the standardized 16" apart. Does Ikea expect consumers to just drill into drywall without stud support? I thought my problem could be solved by purchasing a separate BESTA suspension rail, but it turns out the rail works for all BESTA products EXCEPT for this TV unit. I ended up needing to improvise my own wall mount backing for this unit. If you are planning on floating this unit on the wall, I recommend not installing the metal mounting brackets until you know how you will be mounting it.
Kallviken Not actually concrete effect at allOliviaI specifically ordered the kallviken concrete effect to match my coffee table that’s also concrete. And the kallviken absolutely is not a concrete effect at all. I’m highly unsatisfied. It looks nothing like the picture. Highly disappointed.
Great ProductChabellyIt was an amazing activity to put this product together but IKEA needs to make those instructions better, it was difficult to understand a few steps but in the end, the results were great!
Great 👍LuisGreat perfect of what I was looking for
Pretty and functionalMaureenAfter stalking the website we were able to locate the 2 of these that we were looking for. The textured doors are particularly nice. Looks great- only complaint is that the store/website says you don’t use a rail system to hang and we ended up having to engineer a fairly complex hanging cleat to securely install
CAN NOT MOUNT TO STUDS!!!EricDon’t expect to mount this thing to any 16” spacing studs. The mounting bracket’s are spaces 23”, 20”, 23”. As an engineer, whoever designed and approved this thing should be fired.
OilyLenisDoors getting oily coming from the Besta soft closing/push-open hinge. It’s that normal?
