The upholstery of the chair consists of straight polyester fibres with small gaps between them, providing comfy elasticity and better ventilation so you enjoy a pleasant temperature when sitting.

Good chair for the moneyDianneThis chair was relatively easy to assemble, although the cover is so tight that it is almost impossible to secure it underneath the seat with the velcro. I prefer the slightly wider/larger Bergmund chair that preceded this one, but this one is a good chair for the money.

Bring the Henriksdal back! These are awful! JimI’ve had the previous model, Henriksdal chairs, with the white duck canvas slipcover, for my dining table for 12 years and they look brand new and are so comfortable! I bought a vacation house and ordered these.I can’t believe how BAD they are. Uncomfortable, no padding, and more narrow. An embarrassment to offer dinner guest these chairs to sit on for a meal. And the slip-cover is so bad, super tight, doesn’t fit the seat at all, and shrinks. Also weird flaps on the front and back behind the slit. They flaps are WAY to long and drag on the floor, even when you use the Velcro. They are not pure white like the old ones, they are more cream. Who ever designed these did a terrible job and the sewing is amateur. For this price, chair and slip cover, I could have found much nicer chairs somewhere else. IKEA’s quality has gone so far down hill…and I don’t see them coming back at all. Too bad because I’ve had IKEA items for 30 years. I know I can bring them back but it’s too far to drive.
love these chairsVickii was anxiously waiting for these chairs to be back in stock. i added 2 chairs, at either end of my dining room table. They look great, and my husband had them put together easily .
Poorly sewn and with scruff marksWan ChenWe bought 4 Bergmund chairs with long covers in white. All of the covers have some kind of gray, marking on them (graphite? pencil?). Two had bits stickers adhered to the seams. In the worst one, one of its inside panels -- a large one with velcro and an "apron" to cover the opening between the back chair legs -- was hanging to the rest of the cover by a thread. It appears that the piece was initially sewn on but has come undone somehow (QC? Or was this piece already used?). Driving all the way back to an Ikea store to return it was too much of a hassle. I had sew the piece back by hand to make the cover work. Just know too, that you'll have to iron these covers before use. They are too creased and untidy otherwise. The fabric is sturdy and the color is right. Buy with caution. Moderate your expectations.

They work in my kitchen, but the scale is a little off compared to what I’m used to. The back is shorter and the seat is smaller. I should have checked the measurements. AnonymousI had four IKEA Hendrikson chairs which were these chairs predecessors and only replaced them because the seat padding finally squished down to the point where they felt awkwardly low. I was ready to spend considerably more money to upgrade my chairs but after months of looking and trying various chairs, I’ve picked these - you just cannot beat them! The changes from the Hendrikson are a better seat bottom (so the chair padding should not sink) , MUUUCH easier to put together (I mean these are EASY to put together!!!) , a slightly smaller profile, and better looking cover design that lays better than the Hendrikson covers did. I have washed and bleached my white cotton covers and they seem just as high quality as my old covers which were virtually indestructible! Also. These covers are considerably easier to get on and off the chairs too. You just cannot beat these, in my opinion - you could even have these white chair covers with small kids - they’re THAT washable and durable!

Long dinners just got more comfortable
BERGMUND chair was created so that you can sit longer while enjoying nice dinners – without your legs starting to feel stiff or your back aching. To succeed, we dove into new research on the human body, which led to us developing a new technique to get a really comfortable seat.
Sitting may not seem like an active movement, but it actually involves everything from the body's bones and muscles to tendons, cartilage and joints. Innovation paves a way for more comfort
The polyester in the seat’s padding and backrest comprises of small vertical fibers which provide better elasticity compared to fibres which are more entangled. Anders and his team then developed an innovative technique to further increase the seating comfort by shaping the seat’s padding. “It compares to making a waffle. The polyester fibers are fed into a special tool where the correct shape fixes in place.” After several years of development, Anders hopes that BERGMUND helps people both enjoy nice seating comfort and even better moments together. "When everyone around the table is sitting comfortably, they can relax and focus more on each other."
