Fine office tableRayBought this table as an office desk. It is sturdy, sleek and modern looking, reasonably priced and easy to assemble (even for 1 person).5
We like it very much!RONALDWe like it very much!5
StabilityBarbaraThis was purhased for my embroidery machine. It is really built well and no more shaking when I embroider.5
Perfect solution for our spaceELIZABETHI bought this for my son to use as a desk during this ‘virtual’ period. Has worked great. Perfect size for the spot we had.5
Perfect Home Office DeskGOAT80Purchased last week. Set up was easy. Desk is sturdy and handsome. Great work on a simple modern workspace design IKEA? Why pay 3x as much for something similar from a designer?5
Best WFH office deskhomeoffice20I've recently adopted to working from home full time, and needed a desk that look and feel similar to my office standing desk, so I can feel as if I'm working in the office and in the right mindset. This desk fits all the criteria: it looks like a standing desk (can upgrade to one from the BEKANT series too), is sturdy, and is the perfect size for a home office. The assembly was more on intermediate level compared to other IKEA furnitures, but not too difficult to figure out.5
Perfect For Photography EditingDeAnnI bought this desk a year ago for my home office that measures 10'x10'. I have it facing the room from a corner and it's perfect for this arrangement. I have my 27 iMac with an external hard drive, keyboard, mouse and a medium Wacom tablet. There is still room for my phone holder, coffee cup and a few small items. Mouse works great on desktop. The desk is sitting on an area rug and does not wobble. The net under the desktop helps to hide the cords. It takes up minimal space and is not visually distracting. Two of us put it together without any issues. I am very satisfied with this desk.5
Very nice desk/tableKJSRVery nice desk/table, purchased for my husband. He likes the size and function, especially likes the under net to organize cables, cords, and external hard drive.5
Very SturdyjakM42I purchased this because it was narrow enough to tuck between Ivar shelving uprights, had adjustable height - I wanted something closer to counter height and could take a heavy weight load. I've set up a larger sewing machine with an embroidery module attachment and after months of hard work the table/desk has worked amazingly well. I have no complaints and I'm contemplating buying a second so I can set up my smaller machine.5
Sewing CenterBoojean57I paired 2 of these tables in the corner of a room to hold my sewing machine and my serger. They hold the weight of the machines and create a place for me to work, being able to move quickly from one machine to another. I live the fact they lower to my height since I’m only 5’1”. I’ve never sewn with my machines at the proper height. I have recommend them to others for sewing and crafts.5
Simple Setup BUT EXTREME WOBBLEshab135I bought this last week and I saw it in store. So long story short I brought it home set it up took about forty minutes and when I put it up I noticed a decent wobble. At first I was optimistic thinking it wouldn’t be a bother when using the desk but everything would wobble even when I would type on my keyboard with the slightest movement. I then reassembled it about three times but to my disappointment nothing changed. For the price I was heavily surprised by the wobble in the desk. I am indeed happy with the appearance and the assembly was very easy. But sadly functionality is the main aspect of a desk in which this one lacks.2
Shocking structural choices; returnedCamronIkea baffles me sometimes. After horribly frustrating assembly experiences with other IKEA desks, I decided to go with a desk I knew would be easier to assemble. In the store, this desk was very stable. I don't like this style of desk but I saw it was certified for stability, so I dropped $200 on it. Ikea supplies massive metal screws to attach the base. So far so good. I opened up the bag of parts and looked for the other screws. None. Surely this can't be... After super-securing everything else with *metal*, you are provided these strange plastic inserts to attach the entire metal frame to the desk platform. Some of the inserts affixed the desk surface in a flush manner to the metal frame. Others did not. As I put my monitor and a glass of water on the desk and sat down, I saw everything wobbling a little. Ridiculous. I ask you Ikea, do you really save a lot of money by drilling holes for these strange plastic inserts instead of what you *should* have used - metal bolts? I'm noticing a trend here lately. Assembly: At the end of the day, this wasn't all that easy to assemble. Why? I assumed that the height adjustment was incremental. No. It's left up to you to find a way to precisely level the surface.2
Good desk for the price.Joe Ikea Red HookAlways a great place to go to when in a pinch for emergency office furniture. The Bekant desks fit perfectly in the space we had and were easy to assemble. We were able to set up 6 stations in 90mins.4
Best Desk everSeattle980I've had my desk for over a year now and couldn't be happier. I chose it because I could lower the desk. I'm short and this worked great. I lent it to my grandson who used it on a taller height. He was pleased and bought himself one. Plenty of space for a lamp, laptop, lots of files and papers. I've fixed large puzzles and done arts & crafts with my granddaughter. The desk is a good weight and because the legs are T shape it's very sturdy. easy to assemble. Very pleased!5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.
