With space at a premium in many places, rental prices are rising. Kyra and Dave found a way to afford their converted warehouse by opening up the top floor to paying guests. Their aim was to make it a cozy and characterful place to stay: “It’s a unique space and you can’t mask that – people who come to stay are looking for authenticity, not a pristine hotel,” says Kyra. The couple used plants, colorful textiles and a wall of artwork to add warmth. They also had enough space to install a free-standing kitchenette, which allows for self-catering. And the KARLSTAD sofabed means there’s room for guests to have their own guests. Happy hosting!
