Rated 5 out of 5 by from fabulous choice We have had this countertop in our kitchen for over 6 months now, and it is fantastic. We put two or three coats of sealer on it when installed, and I added another coat after about 3 months, which helps repel water drops around the sink. I love how the wood looks with my creamy white cabinets and terra cotta tile floor. It is solid, gives weight to the light cabinets and wipes clean easily. I am very pleased and feel totally comfortable with this choice-even over considering granite and marble. The wood looks perfect for my country/farmhouse style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this countertop! This is the countertop we used in our complete kitchen remodel - it's on both our islands, as well as our main counters. It is beautiful, an amazing value, and holding up incredibly well. We have had them for over 2 years now in a house full of kids and adults, and they are still looking GREAT! I highly recommend them! (You MUST care for them, though. You cannot just ignore the oiling process.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Dream Countertop I bought three of these about ten years ago. I always dreamed of solid oak countertops. I still love my oak countertops every day. When we first installed them, I finished them with the finish I got from IKEA. Now I maintain them about once a month by oiling them with mineral oil which gives them a beautiful shine and makes them resist water and stains. If there is a little stain or water mark, I just rub it off with a sponge fine sander then oil it. After 10 years then have turned a bit more golden in color but mostly look like new. I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great countertops! We bought two of these for our kitchen remodel. Worked out perfectly and was easy to cut down to create two separate bar tops as well. We chose to use natural, food-safe oils to be able to cut directly on the butcher block. It’ll take some getting used to since there’s no water locking sealant but we love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Countertop This countertop looks great in our guest cottage kitchen. I considered using Formica thank goodness I saw this fabulous solid oak top. I’ll be using it again when we remodel our kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made countertop This wood countertop is well made. I treated it several times with Behandla, and did a final sanding before the last coat. Cut it down to 4' and used it with a 2'x4' stainless steel work bench to make a baking workstation in my kitchen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed We did a major renovation in our kitchen and applied marine grade varnish. Less than two years later, the counter tops are warping...to the point we can see through the area the counter meets the drawers. VERY disappointed. It looks like anything we put on the surface will fall off the edge. Not to mention the dishwasher from Ikea has been serviced SIX times!!! We WERE big Ikea fans:(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly versatile material makes unique spaces I have used these solid butcher block counters in two kitchens now with undermount sinks and elevated bars. I love that you can cut into them and they have the same look throughout. Some people complain about the durability but I have had no issue with this. The key is to properly seal them. In our uses for them I put a high quality poly seal over the counters to really give them a fully waterproof seal. On one kitchen I whitewashed the wood before sealing them and it resulted in a beautiful light wood counter that contrasted the navy cabinets very nicely.
