Rugged and rustic

Stoneware stands up to knocks and impact almost as well as feldspar porcelain. The difference is in the clay and the thicker dimensions of stoneware products. The colour scale of stoneware is more subdued because it's fired at a high temperature. The subdued colours and the thick dimensions, combined in most cases with a matt glaze, give a rustic feel to plates, dishes and mugs. Is it dishwasher-safe? You bet.
