International Women’s Day
On March 8 we celebrate International Women’s Day, honouring the effort to build a more inclusive and equal world. As a humanistic company we believe that gender equality is good for our co-workers and our customers. That’s why we treat all co-workers fairly as we work together to close the gender gap and any other inequalities.

We support our LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender + all other sexual orientations and gender identities) co-workers´ right to be themselves. Our aim is to create a fully inclusive work environment and to provide equal opportunities, contributing to a positive change in all areas of our business and in society.
Did you know?
We have joined Workplace Pride and Stonewall, two organisations that strive for greater acceptance of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities (LGBT+). We have also co-created and endorsed the UN Standards of Conduct on tackling discrimination against LGBT+ people in the workplace and in the community.
International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT)
The LGBT+ community still faces many challenges in the workplace. Those who identify as LGBT+ are far more at risk of discrimination and intimidation at work, with many refusing to reveal their sexual orientations to colleagues for fear of the reaction.
More than just lending our voice in support of IDAHOT, IKEA is committed to ensuring that every co-worker has the right to be treated fairly and be given equal opportunities regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
For us, celebrating IDAHOT means committing to creating an inclusive work environment where all our LGBT+ co-workers feel welcomed, respected and appreciated for who they are.
