Digital gift card
The gift card, which has been available in our stores for some time now, is also easy to order online in the form of an email.
• Choose an amount and enter an email address.
• Pay directly online: your digital gift card will be sent by email.
• Forward the email to the recipient or print it out.
• After 48 hours, you can use your digital gift card in our stores and on IKEA.nl.
• Gift cards can be credited with amounts from 20.- to 150.-
• The digital gift card does not have an expiry date.

• Available at the checkout of all IKEA stores in the Netherlands and Primera, Albert Heijn and Bruna stores.
• Gift cards bought in IKEA stores are valid immediately. Gift cards bought at Primera, Albert Heijn and Bruna are valid 48 hours after purchase.
• Gift cards can be purchased for an amount of your choice.
• Unlimited validity because the gift card has no expiry date.
• Can be used in the store, the IKEA Restaurant, the Bistro, the Swedish Food Market and on IKEA.nl.

Where can I pay with a physical or digital gift card?
You can use IKEA gift cards and digital gift cards to pay in all IKEA stores in the Netherlands and on the online store (apart from if you choose the Click & Collect service or express delivery). Exception: online orders can only be paid for with the “new-style” gift cards which have a 4-digit PIN code on the back under a scratch-off coating strip. If you still have an “old-style” store or gift card, without a PIN code, you won't be able to use it to pay for online orders. Digital gift cards are always valid in the online store (if you choose the order and delivery option).
What can IKEA do if my gift card is lost, stolen or damaged?
Lost, stolen or damaged gift cards cannot be reimbursed.
Can I use more than one gift card for a single online order?
You can use more than one card for a single online order from the online store. If the value of an online order is lower than the amount on the card, it is not possible to use only part of the balance on a card to pay for the online order. The full amount of the order will be deducted from the card. If the order amount is higher than the amount on the card, the full amount on the card will be used. If the order amount is lower than the amount on the card, the remaining balance will stay on the card.
What is the validity period of my gift card?
Physical and digital gift cards issued by IKEA Nederland are valid indefinitely, so there is no expiry date on the card.
What is the balance on my gift card?
To find out the balance of your physical or digital gift card, you can have it checked at one of our stores. You can also contact customer service by phone. If you have used the card before, but not spent the full amount, you can also check the balance on the receipt. The balance is valid indefinitely.
Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to check your balance online; however, you will see the balance on your card when you pay for your online order.

I bought a digital gift card, but I haven't yet received an email.
Wait at least 48 hours by which time the digital gift card will be activated. It's possible that the email has ended up your spam or junk folder. If you still haven't received an email after 48 hours, please contact customer service.
My physical or digital gift card has not been activated after 48 hours. What do I do?
Our staff will be happy to help you resolve the problem. Please contact customer service. Have the number of your gift card to hand.
Can I exchange my physical or digital gift card for cash?
No, neither the physical nor the digital gift card can be exchanged for cash.
In which countries can gift cards be used?
Gift cards (both physical and digital) can be used in shops in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Spain (excluding Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Mallorca and Tenerife), Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and the United States. If the IKEA gift card is used in countries with a different currency, a conversion fee of 3% will automatically be charged.
The following countries do not accept gift cards from other countries:
United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Serbia, China, Lithuania, Singapore, Cyprus, Malaysia, Spanish Islands, Greece, Morocco, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Iceland, Romania, Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia, Israel and South Korea.
Gift cards from the following countries are only accepted in their own country:

Are gift cards also valid in the restaurant?
Yes. IKEA gift cards can be used in stores, IKEA Restaurants, the Bistro, the Swedish Food Market and on IKEA.nl.
How much does a digital gift card cost?
There is no extra charge for a digital gift card. You only pay the amount that you want to put on the card.
How do I pay on IKEA.nl with a physical or digital gift card?
In the cart, at the “payment” step, you will find the option to redeem a gift or store credit. Enter the gift card number, add the PIN code, which you'll find on the back of the card (or in the email accompanying the digital card) and then click on “Use this card”. The credit will automatically be deducted from the total amount so check that the total amount of your order has changed.
Can I cancel/return my gift card?
No, this is not possible. Physical and digital gift cards cannot be cancelled or returned and the balance cannot be exchanged for cash.
Can I use a gift card even if I use the “Click & Collect” service for my online order?
No, this is not possible. Unfortunately, you cannot pay with a gift card when using the Click & Collect service. If you opt for delivery instead, you will be able to use your gift card.
