Proceeds from the campaign "One dollar is a fortune" go to education for children

IKEA Foundation funds various projects in Asia, Africa and Central and Eastern Europe with proceeds from the annual “One dollar is a fortune” campaign. The campaign which runs in November and December donates one dollar for each Soft Toy sold to UNICEF and Save the Children education projects. IKEA Foundation has so far been able to donate 16.7 million dollars, supporting a total of 40 projects in more than 20 different countries and providing opportunities for quality education to millions of children.

A chance to go to school

The projects run by UNICEF and Save the Children aim to improve children's education. UNICEF and Save the Children want to give children around the world a chance to go to school, and to schools where the children are safe and protected.

Albania Reads

"Albania reads" is an Albanian government initiative to restore a culture of reading among the country's youth. UNICEF supports this project with the help of IKEA Foundation. A total of 850 schools are targeted and already 190 schools have created libraries.

Children's Activity Center in China

The Children's Activity Center, built by Save the Children, provides a safe space for the children to play and spend time together. This will help them in coping with being far away from their parents and in having confidence in themselves.

Save the Children is improving the lives of disabled children in Russia

The children are included in schools and kindergartens, and by raising public awareness the negative attitudes against disabled children are changing a lot.
This way the children will feel more respected and as much part of the society as any other children.
