IKEA Southeast Asia releases Our Year: FY18 Annual Report
At a time when many retailers are shrinking operations, IKEA Southeast Asia is growing and transforming its business to meet customers’ changing expectations. Our FY18 Annual Report shares stories from behind the scenes as the region’s seven IKEA stores and IKEA-anchored shopping centres attracted 85 million visits and topped SGD 1 billion in total turnover for the first time. In Thailand, we opened the first IKEA store to be fully integrated with a shopping centre. In Malaysia, we started up ecommerce to bring products to people thousands of kilometres away from the nearest store. In Singapore, we launched the country’s first commercial solar cooling system. In the Philippines, construction started on what will be the largest IKEA store in the world. This report celebrates what we have achieved with our many business friends, non-profit partners, government authorities and many others who have supported our journey in Southeast Asia.

Sagoskatt 2018
November 2018
For the fifth year in a row, IKEA arranged the soft toy drawing competition and invited children from around the world to draw the soft toy of their dreams. The 5 most unique creations would be turned into real soft toys and become the limited-edition collection called SAGOSKATT. The response was quite staggering with over 87,000 pieces of art being submitted.

Eventually, our jury settled on five winners whose creations included a pink unicorn living in the clouds, a rainbow coloured shark travelling the seas, a mischievous blue monster called Monster, A hedgehog-, dinosaur- and monster hybrid with a passion for tropical fruit and a dotted seal who loves to play with his best friends, fish.

The 2019 IKEA Catalogue is here, and we’ve got some big news. We’ve always included inspirational single room settings in our catalogue. But this year, we’ve switched things up by creating whole homes. These spaces were designed for fictional families but are full of real ideas and inspiration.

In August, IKEA launches a poetic mood in soft pastels with storage as a big theme and products made with sustainable materials.
New products - September
This month we’re happy to introduce a look that’s all about connecting to yourself and creating a home that’s personal, organised and comfortable. The style is minimalist Scandinavian, the mood is poetic and the colours range from soft pastels to graphic monochromes.

Among the new products, storage and organising is a big theme. There’s a heavy-duty storage series and a fashionable update to an existing storage series. For the kitchen, there’s a series of traditional-styled storage, along with a matching sink and tap that’s water-saving. Of course, we focus on sustainability with our new products, with for example new flavourful teas that are UTZ-certified, textiles made of 100% cotton from more sustainable sources and a curtain and door mat that are made of recycled PET. The month also brings lamps and smaller pieces like candle holders and a watering can for a final finishing touch. Enjoy!
