Delivery

About These Terms

These are the delivery terms which apply when you use our Home Delivery Service.

We may sub-contract our Home Delivery Service to our trusted transport service providers, but we will always remain responsible for the performance of the Home Delivery Service.

We may change these delivery terms at any time. You should check these delivery terms before using our Home Delivery Service.

Where do we deliver to?
We will deliver to the delivery address that you give us. The location must be within the Republic of Ireland and accessible by road. In the event of any offshore deliveries, we will complete delivery to a designated carrier, shipping agent or location at a port within the Republic of Ireland.

Delivery restrictions
Unfortunately we are unable to deliver perishable products (including plants).

Some of our furniture is larger than you may expect, particularly sofas. Please check the measurements of the products you are buying to make sure there is enough space at the delivery address and that once the product is built, it will fit into your room. Before the delivery, please ensure that there is sufficient access and space and that any staircases and lifts providing access are suitable for the delivery. You must ensure that the property
and surroundings are safe for delivery staff. You should move fragile objects which could be damaged during the delivery, such as lights, vases, and pictures.

Every effort will be made to deliver the products to your room of choice, provided it is safe and practical to do so. However, if our delivery staff believe it is unsafe to deliver the products to this room, then an alternative room will be agreed with you where possible. If our delivery staff consider that delivery to the room of your choice is likely to cause damage to the products or to the property, they will let you know and record the concern on the delivery document. You can still accept the delivery but we will not be liable for any damage caused to the products or the property. However our delivery staff will take reasonable care when delivering the products.

Our delivery staff are not permitted to and will not: remove doors, windows, doorframes etc in order to complete the delivery. You must arrange this before the delivery takes place. Our delivery staff do not carry any specialised lifting equipment and will not unpack or assemble delivered products or remove any packaging. Our delivery staff will not remove their footwear whilst making deliveries. If you are concerned about possible damage to flooring, please make sure you cover the flooring with protective sheets.

What information do we require from you?
When you arrange your delivery, we will ask you to provide certain information. This information will be recorded on the delivery document and the delivery will take place at the delivery address you specify. If you provide us with incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate information or instructions, we may cancel the delivery by giving you written notice.

You are responsible for ensuring that you are available to accept delivery. If you are not, there must be an adult available who is capable of receiving delivery on your behalf, and you agree that we can rely on their instructions as if they were your own. Our delivery staff are not permitted to leave any products that have not been signed for. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to accept delivery. We shall not be liable in respect of any delay in delivery where the delay is your fault.

On delivery, you will be asked to examine the products, check the condition of the packaging and whether the correct number of packages have been delivered. You will be asked to sign the delivery document confirming this. If there are any issues, you should record this on the delivery document. Missing products will be re-ordered and damaged/incorrect products will be returned and replaced and delivered free of charge. This will not affect your legal right to notify us within a reasonable time at a later date if you find a defect in your products. If you refuse to sign the delivery document, this will be taken as refusal to accept delivery.

What happens if you discover products are damaged after delivery?
If the products within the packaging are faulty or damaged, please notify IKEA customer services using the telephone number stated on the delivery document as soon as possible after delivery. Please keep any damaged product so that we can inspect it at a later date. If you dispose of any damaged product before we have had the opportunity to inspect it, then this could affect any claim for replacement. After inspection, if we are responsible for damage to a delivered product, we will replace it or if we are unable to do so, we will refund you with the full amount you have paid for the product together with any delivery charges. We will not accept responsibility for any products that are damaged during the delivery process if the damage is your fault.

Delivery dates
We offer “same day delivery” or “next day delivery” to many areas, but not to all. For some areas the Home Delivery Service is restricted to a limited number of days per week. There is a daily cut-off time for “same day” delivery, and demand and busy periods may also restrict our ability to offer a “same day” or “next day” service. We will offer the next available time slot in these cases.

Delivery charges and delivery
The delivery charges are calculated based on the value of the products being delivered and apply to the delivery area which is displayed in-store. The delivery charges are based on delivery to a single property or address. Prices for delivery outside the delivery area are available from our staff in-store. Promotional customer delivery charges will apply at our discretion and may be withdrawn at any time before the booking is taken.

You must pay for delivery at the time of booking. Upon payment we will give you a delivery document containing the details of your delivery. We will do our best to deliver all products to the address at the timeslot and date specified on the delivery document.

Changing your order, the date of delivery and cancelling your delivery
Provided that your products have not been despatched for delivery, you may change your order and/or time or date of delivery and you may also cancel your delivery. Please note that any “made to order” products cannot be cancelled at any time once they have been confirmed. If you change or cancel your order, you will only have to pay the costs we have reasonably incurred up to the time of the change or cancellation. However, where the amendment or cancellation is due to our failure to comply with these delivery terms, you shall have no liability to us for costs incurred in relation to such amendment or cancellation.
