We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal data. We protect your personal data from unauthorized or accidental destruction, accidental loss, technical errors, falsification, theft or unlawful use, and also from unauthorized amendment, copying, access or other unauthorized processing.

You should be aware, however, that the transmission of information via the Internet and other electronic media creates certain security risks, and that we can give no guarantee of the safety of information transmitted to us by these means.

How do we use cookies and analytical tools (Adobe Analytics)?

On our website we use what are known as cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device, either temporarily or permanently, when you visit our website. At this point we want to tell you about our use of cookies.

Why do we use cookies?

We use cookies to make sure our website functions – the shopping basket function, for example – operate properly. We also use them to find out what you like most, to adapt our Online Shop in line with your customer wishes, and to make surfing with us as convenient as possible. The website could, for example, display the page that you enjoy looking at (together with information about it that’s even more relevant) so that you don't have to spend too much time browsing on your next visit. We also use cookies to optimize our advertising, so that we can present you with advertising and/or products in which you might be especially interested. Our goal at all times is to make our website as attractive to you as possible, constantly improving our services and your user experience.

Which cookies do we use, and how?

Examples of how we use cookies include the temporary storage of what you have in your shopping basket, or how far you have got with your order. Without them we would not be able to offer you these services at all. Functional cookies are also used, for example, to store your log-in details temporarily, to ensure that your data are secure in the logged-in state or that the appearance of the website is stable, or to provide support for live chats. We also use performance cookies, for example, to improve website performance by reducing the time that the pages you want to visit take to load. Finally we use target-oriented cookies to enable you, for example, to share content and "like" it.

Most of the cookies we use are automatically deleted by your computer or mobile device at the end of the browser session. We also use permanent cookies, which are stored on your computer or mobile device after your browser session ends. At your next visit to our website your preferred inputs and settings are then automatically recognized. These cookies are automatically deactivated after the programmed time expires. They are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Thanks to these cookies, for example, the site displays information especially matched to your interests.

The retargeting technology that we use enables us to address advertising to those users who have taken an interest in our Online Shop and our products in the past. We are convinced that as a rule, displaying advertising that is personalized and matched with the individual’s interests is more interesting to the user than advertising that lacks any such personal connection. Retargeting displays advertising on the basis of a cookie-based analysis of the user’s previous behaviour. We cooperate with partner companies on this, and accordingly our partner companies’ cookies may also be stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit our website. These cookies are automatically deactivated after the programmed time expires.

What data are stored in the cookies?

The cookies that we use do not store any personal data. The cookies that we use cannot be attributed to any particular individual. When a cookie is activated, it is assigned an identification number.

How can you prevent cookies from being stored?

Most Internet browsers accept cookies automatically. But you can use the settings to instruct your browser not to accept cookies, or to ask you each time before a cookie is accepted from a website visited by you. You can also delete cookies from your computer or mobile device by using your browser’s corresponding function. If you decide to deactivate our cookies or those of our partner companies, you will not see certain information on our website or be able to use some functions designed to improve your visit.

How do we evaluate log files?

For technical reasons, every time you access our website certain usage data are transmitted to us from your Internet browser and stored in protocol files known as log files. These usage data are as follows: date and time of the website access; IP address of your computer or mobile device; address of the website from which you came to ours; data volume transferred, plus the name and version of your browser.

Analysing the log files helps us to further improve our website and make it more user-friendly, to detect and rectify errors faster, and to manage server capacities. The log files enable us, for example, to establish at what time the use of our website is especially popular, and to make a corresponding volume of data available so that you can use it to the best possible effect.

How do we use Adobe Analytics for web analyses?

We use Adobe Analytics to constantly improve and optimize our website. Adobe Analytics is a web analysis service from Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited (hereinafter "Adobe"). Adobe Analytics generates detailed statistics on a website’s traffic and its origins, also measuring conversions and sales. Adobe Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your computer or mobile device, enabling the use of our website by our users to be analysed. The information on your use of our website obtained by the cookies, including your IP address, are anonymized by using the corresponding settings and transmitted to Adobe.

On our instructions Adobe uses the information obtained by the cookies to analyse your use of our website and prepare reports on website activities, which it then makes available to us for the purposes of analysis. Adobe may pass this information on to third parties if this is a statutory requirement or if they process the data on Adobe’s behalf. Under no circumstances will Adobe link your IP address to other data stored by it.

You can prevent the installation and storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. We would point out, however, that you will then no longer see certain information on our website, and you will no longer be able to use some functions designed to improve your visit.

By using this website you agree that the data collected may be processed by Adobe as described above and for the purpose described above. More detailed information about data protection at Adobe can be found at:

How do we use social plug-ins?

Recommendation buttons for the Facebook, Google+ and Twitter social networks are available on our website. With these you can recommend selected website content to other Internet users via these social networks and add them to your personal profile. The recommendation buttons are provided by the social network operators.

By placing these plug-ins on our website these social network operators may receive the information that you have visited our website. If you are logged onto one of these networks during your visit to our website, its operator can attribute this visit to your user account. If you do not want this to happen, we recommend logging out of social networks before visiting our website.

If you press the buttons, the corresponding information is transmitted to the social network and stored there. You can find more detailed information on the purpose and scope of data collection, the further processing and use of the data and how you can use settings to protect your privacy in the social network operators’ notes on data protection:

• Facebook: http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php
• Google+: http://www.google.de/intl/de/privacy/plusone
• Twitter: http://twitter.com/privacy

You can prevent cookies from being stored by setting your browser software accordingly (see the above instructions).
