IKEA Marsden Park, which opened in April 2015 and employs more than 300 co-workers, is committed to this same vision and adding value to the local community in a range of positive ways.
With a strong focus on career and learning possibilities within IKEA, co-workers are actively encouraged to experience different roles within the business and many change between functions and countries several times in their careers.
Career roles within IKEA include Customer Relations, IT, Marketing, Human Resources, Restaurant (IKEA FOOD), Purchasing, Finance and Business, Logistics, Sales, Design and Product Development, Communication and Interior Design and Sustainability.
The opening of the new IKEA store in the Sydney Business Park at Marsden Park, created an opportunity to enter into a partnership with The Beacon Foundation as a way for IKEA Marsden Park to engage with the young people in their local community.
Store Manager, IKEA Marsden Park said the business is highly committed both to the local community and in making a positive impact on young people locally.
“We are here for the long-term, and plan to be good neighbours and partners in the community. We aim to employ local people for local jobs, so partnering with local schools to support with skills development and education is the right thing to do.
“It provides young people in our local community with the opportunity to acquire the required skills and knowledge before entering the workforce within a supportive environment.”
