I use this every dayAnandI initially bought this thinking I'd use it primarily as a meat/pastry thermometer, but I've actually come to use it every day. It also has a simple and intuitive timer that I now use on a daily basis in my kitchen. It has a nice magnetic back that I use to keep it stuck to my fridge. I'd initially bought a meat thermometer with alarm just like this one a few years ago, but it died within a year, with barely any use. This one feels a lot more solid, even though it's mostly made of plastic and is really simple to use. No frills. Does what it is meant to do, be a simple timer and a meat thermometer. Note: The minutes part of the timer goes up to 99, and only goes forwards, so if you cross the number of minutes you're setting by accident, you'll have to turn it off, turn it on and start again till you reach the right number. I've now gotten used to the system, so it isn't a problem to me anymore.5
