Ready for something new? So is IKEA. But when you’ve explored so much of life at home, where do you go next?
Together with Anterwerp-based fashion designer, Walter Van Beirendonck, the limited edition GLÖDANDE collection was brought to life. Full of bright colours and a hefty shot of whimsy, the collection is based upon the fantasy world of the Wondermooi—Van Beirendonck’s children of the clouds. These beautiful, weird little creatures, the likes of which you’ve never seen before, are the inspiration and base of a collection of pre-cut fabrics, stationary, shopping bags, rugs, porcelain and pillows.

"I really wanted to gather a lot of inspiration, think about stories, think about ideas which could evolve into other things. I wanted to tell a story."

“Every collection is starting with research and the things I like to see together. When I started with the IKEA project, I wanted to handle it almost like a fashion collection. I really wanted to gather a lot of inspiration, think about stories, think about ideas which could evolve into other things. I wanted to tell a story,” says Van Beirendonck.
In addition to the fabulous accessories, all five Wondermooi are available for 3D printing and come with painting instructions, a major first for IKEA. So go ahead and start getting creative!
