Step 1

You’ll need a wooden picture frame, a pair of scissors and a staple gun. Lay them out on a clean, flat surface with your roll of blind canvas.

Step 2

Unroll the blind and lay it flat on the floor. Place the frame over it and then use the scissors to cut the canvas, leaving a generous border.

Step 3

Beginning halfway up one side, fold the canvas over the frame and staple it into position. Do this on all four sides, keeping the canvas taut.

Step 4

Choose a corner and fold the canvas in diagonals, just like wrapping a present. Staple the folded canvas. Make sure there is no loose material.

Step 5

Repeat this process on the other three corners. Always do opposite corners together, rather than working around the frame in sequence.

Step 6

When your canvas is taut and even, you’re all set. Get out your paints and begin. Remember not to lay the canvas on sharp or uneven surfaces.
